IMO City will win the premier league but struggle to get past the group stage of the champions league
I doubt City can beat United for the league. One area where Mancini is short is getting back into a game when he's trailing to opposition. I thought he left that behind him last season, but apparently he still takes out strikers and puts in defensive mids when he's behind in a game. That will hurt him in the EPL i believe, unlike United who are masters at chasing games and getting points out of impossible situations.

Anyone else think that Kaka is slowly but surely getting back to his best? I thought I saw some of that old elegance in the last 2 games.
He has a long way to get back to his best. But he's certainly playing well in the past couple of games.

They're not a superpower, they're just having a good couple of years, come back if they go past the quarters in 2014.
Agree they're not a superpower anymore, but they are doing well across the board:

- Qualified for the 2012 Olympics (via the South American Youth Championship) eliminating Argentina in the process, first time they have qualified since 1928.
- This year Peñarol reached the final of the Copa Libertadores, the first Uruguayan club to do so since Nacional in 1988.
- Reached the semifinal of the 2010 World Cup, first time they progressed beyond the second round since 1970.
- Won the Copa América for the first time in six editions (last triumph was 1995).
- Reached the final of the 2011 FIFA U-17 World Cup, the first time they have gone that far.

If Kaka returns back to his best. Him and Ronaldo would take on Barcelona.
Not just those two. Look at this team:

Casillas - Ramos - Pepe - Carvalho - Marcelo - Khedira/Şahin - Alonso - Özil - Kaka - Ronaldo - Benzema

They are amazing on paper. Even stronger than Galacticos 1.0
Plus there's Mourinho of course.

Noooo frickin way that they are stronger than Galacticos 1.0.

Zidane has more class than all of these 11 together. I still think that Barca is better than them.

Oh, and FUCK Mourinho.

Let's compare:

Galacticos 1 vs Galacticos 2

Casillas - Casillas (he's better now than then): 0-1
Salgado - Ramos (they're equal IMO) 1-2
Hierro - Pepe 2-2
Helguera - Carvalho 2-3
R. Carlos - Marcelo 3-3
Makelele - Khedira 4-3
Beckham - Alonso 4-4
Figo - C. Ronaldo 4-5
Zidane - Kaka 5-5
Raul/Guti - Ozil (equal) 6-6
Ronaldo - Benzema 7-6
Del Bosque - Mourinho 7-7

hmm I dunno

I think it all started with Laporta. And a lot had to do with Real fuckin themselves up (sacking Del Bosque, letting go of Makelele, signing pretty boys like Beckham instead of ubertalents like Dinho etc.)

More like Davids
Davids arrival almost made them champions in 2004 after a terrible start. There's also a very good documentary about Barca and Laporta that season when things started to change for them.

I remember being there in 2004 and the players just finished training. Saviola was giving signatures in his BMW X5, Puyol drove away in his dirty Audi A3 and almost hit someone on his way out and Luis Enrique got mad because some crazy Dutch tourist got into his Porsche and didn't want to go out. We were all waiting for Kluivert, Davids and Overmars to come out but somehow they never did.

His excuse for that substitution was that he wanted to keep it 2-0 and bring in Tevez 5 minutes later, but then he refused to come in. :D
