Gallardo... Club legend, but he is quite young and inexperienced. We'll see how he does when River actually faces some adversity. Plus Libertadores is an entirely different level, and one that will be interesting to see how he manages the squad for.

Man. Gallardo, Piscu, AMs... Makes me wish Juve would sign an AM.

ya they look tired, their mid is letting them down, btw i really have been impressed with ramiro funes mori

also can you believe people in the summer said lavezzi is better than lamela

Wait. What? Someone said Lavezzi is better than Lamela?

Funes Mori was excellent tonight. I once had high hopes for those two making it big, but I think an excellent long-term career for him at River would be pretty cool, and potentially his maximum level of play.

Lucas Boye was terrible. Almost invisible. I spoke to soon after his last appearance.

That Lamela goal today was brilliant. SO casual about it.

Di Maria was, wow. I think Argie would have won the WC without his injury. It's really too bad. What do you think of Argentina without Messi? I think there's less of a tendency to ball watch, and more of a cohesive team work in action. I know these players are all professionals, and Messi is the best player currently out there, but the players just seem to rely on him too often, especially when you have guys like Higauin and Lavezzi there. It's that waiting for that moment of genius to bail out poor performances.

dont give up on boye, btw i really wanna see driussi in action
Driussi's bicycle kick from outside the box against Uruguay for the U17s last year was one of the best goals of 2013. Amazing.

His goals in the U17 WC against Iran and Tunisia were pretty good too.

I saw one of the games he played with River in Inicial in 2013. I hope they start playing him a bit this year. So much talent there.

messi is not the problem, lack of a pace setting midfield boss was, well by extension that made messi kinda be that guy. My impression is theres a lot of pressure on him to be the man, not just coz hes messi, but also since hes seen as more 'spanish'. Overall argentina overachieved in the WC imo got close but kinda choked it up at the end there.

It's funny, watching France-Germany in the QFs, I thought France outplayed Germany, and it wasn't that close. They just could not score. I wasn't expecting that annihilation of Brazil in the SF, and when it happened, I had no idea what to expect of Germany in the final. There wasn't really a dominant side in this WC. No one played like the out and out best team all the way through. Or even for more than a match or two. So in a historical context Argentina overachieved, but this WC, I think there were about 6-8 teams that easily could have played in that final, if things had fallen their way.

Messi seems so cool with Barca, but the pressure gets to him a bit with Argie it seems. Probably because so much weight is put on his shoulders. And the midfield is lacking, in the central mid, and even defensive mid areas. Messi seems to drop back even further with Argie than with Barca and expend a lot of energy voiding the need for a link up to the attack as he plays as a sort of link up plus a major part in the attack. He performs much better with Di Maria on the pitch though.

Man, River is crazy good so far this year. 15 goals for, 2 against in 6 matches. Today against a really bad Tigre, 22 (11 on goal) attempts to 2 (0 on goal). What a performance. The defense is really impressive thus far, even if the offense is scoring at a crazy rate.

X would be better at answering that question. I'm not quite the talent evaluator he is.

Driussi still hasn't featured much for River, but he was sub'd in again today. 18 year old attacker that was amazing for the Argie U17 National team over the last year or so. Here's his famous goal against Uruguay.

Lucas Boye could turn out good as well. He's also 18 and a striker and has started a couple matches this season already and scored in one.

His goal was assisted by Tomas Martinez, a 19 year old MF who looks pretty good too.

German Pezzella is looking quite good as a Centre Back for them, but he's 23 already. Funes Mori is much the same. 23 but quite good. Matias Kranevitter is a 21 year old DM, decent player with potential.

Attack seems to be the place where they have the brightest prospects right now.

Any interesting talents? :D
Driussi will rule the world, soon.
Also, a good talent is Ponce with excellent last year for his age. He plays for NOB.
Luciano Acosta made some impressive games last year and it seems like he has a bright future! He plays for BOCA!
Kranevitter is a decent player, but i can't see on him something ''big. He plays for Riber.
Another big talent is Villalba. Pace, vision and he can easily score. I can see him, making a big transfer for Europe club!
And my favourite young Argentine, Joaquin Correa. Great technique, classic AM who can play also as Winger. He will make a big move next summer. He plays for Estudiantes.

Last year i had high hopes for Centurion, but he fails to prove himself. Now with Hauche and Milito is very good but i can't see him on a bigger club. Unfortunately!
