Interesting argument . The whole blood thing is nonesense though . You can't look at a player's origin to decide whether or not he should play for the NT. Look at France , if that point was valid then we would have three or four original french players .

It's a matter of talent , not bloodline . The reason Amauri won't get chosen is beacuse he won't add too much to the NT . Italy have far better strikers than him .

Camo's story is diff. not because he has Italian grandparents but he is probably the best right winger in Italy who could add a lot to the italian squad . The fact that he had an Italian heritage merely gave him a better reasopn to join Italy .

Andy has a point though , it is all about talent and has very little to do with blood . People who say it is a matter of bloodline are just talking bullshit .

What Andy is saying is this :

1. If Camoranesi can play for Italy than so can anyone else who has an Italian passport !
2. If Amauri shouldn't play for Italy only because he's not Italian then Camoranesi also shouldn't play.

There shouldn't be option 3 saying :
3. Camoranesi can play for Italy because he has Italian blood through his great grandparents but Amauri can't ONLY because he's not Italian.

In some odd way there seems to be some level of racism in this discussion looking at this heritage or blood argument being preached. It's really not drivel. Other nations seemingly have no problem with bringing in other talents, but it's seemingly only Azzurri fans who lash out against it for some reason. But when a foreignor such as Camoranesi comes to play and helps Italy win, you never hear boo about the player's "uncleanliness."

Look at Omar Sivori. He played for Argentina then played for Italy. From all accounts I've seen, Italians consider him an Italian rather than an Argentinian even in spite of the fact he was born in South America. What is it with Italy?

Nobodys saying that, but if a certain player is a citizen of a given country, then you have no right to stop him from playing for the NT, just because of his "blood".

He never stepped on Italian soil until he was 24 but then he got the passport, he got called for the NT and he plays for Italy now. The only connection he had with Italy were his great grand-parents ( or some say his grandparents).

Dude I love arguing but I have to agree. I don't think Andy can accept the fact that other people are allowed to have opinions that aren't his own. Personally I do not think that Camo or Amauri should be called up but that's just me.
