I confess... I'm a map geek. :geek: I am a AAA member (which is one better than an AA member?) and I have free maps of pretty much the entire Western world in boxes... just in case I'm called in to lead an expedition or something, of course.

I have a world atlas, but also a world historical atlas... which is pretty fascinating stuff for the reasons Erik mentioned. I'm waiting for them to do 'projection' atlases in the future, where places like the Netherlands disappear under water, Greenland shrinks to a small island of rock, etc. :scared:
Now wait just a minute! We don't plan on disappearing any time soon!:D

This kind of stuff rules though. Check out Germany :wth:

lol they cost you a fortune though and they drove the world into two consequetive World Wars (the concept of colonialism that is, not just the British territories obviously).

We should all be glad that age is behind us.

Hey Erik, from what date is this map? Somewhere between 1790 and 1815 I guess.

Belgium doesn't exist...:frown:

No the monarchy is relatively new and if I had a say in it - we'd return to being a Republic. When we were one of the world's superpowers, we were also a Republic. It's a much better system for our national mentality and culture.
