He wasn't. We didn't change the formation to accommodate Pepe. We have better players now, that even if he comes back, he is more likely to be a bench option (which he always was) than a regular.
We were waiting for an injury prone player to come back to have the option to change the formation. It says a lot about Conte's willingness to change tactics from time to time. Then he plays Padoin in a 4-3-3.
