Should Juve buy Pepe in the summer?

Seriously, 4-3-3 shouldn't have guys like Pepe in it. I mean, its already 7 defensive players in the team, the 3 midfielders and our back 4. That should be enough. 4-3-3 is built in a way that it is very important to have two offensive wingers who can support your central striker. Pirlo, Marchisio and Vidal are enough to help the back 4. I find it a bit sad that we're actually talking about defensive presence from our trident. Whats left for offense?
against inter, he did a good job shutting down maicon when he was switched sides.

thing is, if you replace pepe, you need an offensive player wich endproduct justifies giving up his defensive value.
and we simply dont have such players in our team.

esti and elia have not much of an endproduct, and krasic is horribly out of form.

if conte had someone who's endproduct was good enough, he would swap in the blink of an eye, its also why he played krasic instead of pepe for a while

I always get called negative for saying this about players.

Pirlo and Aquilani are a classic example.

I, generally, would prefer an extra ball winner in midfield over Aquilani because I believe that he just swans about and doesn't contribute enough to the team when in possession to justify how little he offers when the teams doesn't have possession.

For Pirlo, however, I look beyond my love of tough midfielders because he, as Juve are learning, can single-handedly change how a team plays and allows them to have a fantastic amount of control over a game. For that reason, he is allowed to not offer an awful lot defensively.
