Ranieri had much harder job than any other coach this season. He had new, young team with few senior players who did not perform up to level. Remember Neddy & DP. Just last 6-7 games they are playing as they should. He had so many injured players, he had to fight against referees too. Now against journalist as well.
He gives interviews in Italian mainly and many of them are misinterpreted.

Thing about Sissoko is that Rafa did not want to sell him at beginning of season, and its only natural to put price up in that case.
Now Rafa wants Mascherano who is bit different player, but they would need £17 mil to keep him, and i dont think they would have him. But their midfield is so crowded as they have Gerrard, Mascherano, Alonso, Babel, to mention few off.

Also I am really surprised to read that some of you cheered up for Inter after 2:0..
He would not loose his job even if it stayed like that, as our 11 is not even close to Inters at the moment. Shame on you.

In regards to new coach, lets wait until end of the season , and if we achieve what we planed than there is no reason for changes. If not , well..
Yes, you just wait.
I bet you'd be a very bad director. It's about evaluating a situation. It's not 'waiting'. I lost my patience with the guy when he was so positive about the fact that we had a great chance of winning the scudetto. Millions of promises, and within a month they are all unrealistic. What kind of trainer prefers Sissoko to van der Vaart? I don't know how good/crap Sissoko is as many people on this forum do, but I know very well who van der Vaart is and how he plays. But since the fact Sissoko is a DM, it wouldn't add anything special IMO. All we do is rely on magic from Del Piero, a hard fought game from Nedved and incredible saves from Buffon. Don't you even dare to think that we played good and got in the 3rd/4th position. We just had more luck then skill.

But back to Ranieri, with all the respect, he doesn't know how to handle a big club like Juventus. He makes really strange decisions, can't handle the media etc.
Maybe we are not as strong as Inter, but when Lippi was our coach, Inter still had a better squad.
But at the end of the day, we still managed to win the scudetto. All what Ranieri does is talk, but on the field the players look very crapy.

For me, he can stay until the end of the season, if our play improves, he might even stay for next season, but if the play doesn't improve (and I doubt it will so that is why I voted option 2), then he might be waved goodbye at the end of the season.

His existence is harming this club. I never turned against a Juve coach before like this, but it is so obvious man how he is ruining the game.. Thumbs up for Vinman for the "RUINeri" title. :D
I m not a fan of CR, i was against this move by the day one, but our noob managers made a choice witch is currently irriversable, we cannot throw him away now, as we have more things to lose than to win. Mourinho,Lippi and Vialli might be available but they wouldnt join us now, our board is not capable of pulling this of, at least not under those cirmumstances and not without any proper investments and promise for the future. New coach would mean a new scheme, a new formation, new competition for our players to gain starters positions, bye bye to any balance we have now, any teamwork, any stability within the ranks of the players.
To risk all these for an average Serie A coach wouldnt be the wisest idea,
i mean just look at the other teams, there is no coach making any miracles somewhere...
We have to respect our image as Juventus, we are not like Greek or Turkish teams that blame everything on the coach and sack him after the first derby.
If we do this, it would be harder for any other prestigious coach to join us, risking his carrier, value and status. We should have taken a better coach in the first place.
ATM as long as we stand in the 3rd place CR's place is safe, after season, if CR keeps going on like that, we will evaluate the situation and make a decision to replace him for not using the 100% of our material's potential, despite achieving our pripary targets.
Mourinho might already have a pre-contact with Milan or Barca and they dont announce it for keeping their stability until the end of the season.
We wont have the option to lure him anyway, but we may have the option to bring in Benitez or Lippi to spend our summer transfer budget and build a proper team, worthy of the Juventus jersey!

our right winger was injured and only option was to put Trez instead. All others were Primavera players.
Also Paladino wasn't playing as 3rd striker so after Trez got in we played with 3..
Original formation was 422.

It looks like that PS2 did not thought you well about game.

What balance? what teamwork? what stability?

We (Juventus) are now risking future. Look what Ramos did with Tottenham!! miracles are not needed. Just common sense. We need vision, concrete idea of how our teem should look like. Most of people here stand by and have a vision (even Lampoard). The man at the side line right now is clueless and is not limited at all with players at disposal and injuries. He is the one who let them out of the team, and YES, managers have "some" responsibility.

That is not entirely true as Lippi had some excellent players at his disposal and Inter had a lot of players and a lot of dross.

Inter Milan have a lot of very good players now and more importantly 90% or more are very useful unlike before when they had the likes of Ze Elias, Gresko and others that they did not need.

With every Vieri they had a Ventola.

Lippi had Davids, Dp, Nedved, Ferrara, and some very good players.

The 1 time that the squad was not that good we came a distant 3rd to Roma and Milan.

Really is our football play worse than when Capello was in charge? Even under Lippi we had some pretty inept performances like almost every game against Deportivo La Coruna

How many time in 2006 when Capello was manager did we bemoan the performances of our team?

Now Lippi and Capello had far better players at their disposal.

Sure Ranieri takes some of the blame for performances and results but I just think that even if we brought Wenger and Mourinho as a combo there would still be lots of complaints on here. Didier Deschamps got a lot of stick eevn when he took the team from 9 points or so deficit to be 6 points clear he was still ridiculed

Now I dont agree with the calibre of players they are trying to bring in like Sissoko and even worse Mellberg but what can you do!

You sack the manager now, whats that gonna do its like Derby County sacking their manager as if the new guy would make average players good or palermo hiring and firing Guidolin depending on what side of the bed that Zampangni wakes up from.

The most puzzling aspect is what has happened to the Claudio ranieri that so thrilled me during his 1st stint as valencia manager or was it someone else making them play the way they did ?

Creativity? Since when have we been creative anyways? last time was when Zidane was here and he was shipped out because according to Agnelli he was more entertaining than effective

Thats our problem right there, always picking effective ahead of creativity.

Despite Capello having Cannavaro and Thuram at his disposal he still insisted on using Viera and Emerson

Ancelotti at Juventus played for me the worst football of all our managers to date and look at him at Milan, they play attractive football so maybe its not just the managers that dictate the way teams play

Juventus fans at stadium do not seem to mind the calibre of football as far as their winning so why should the manager address the problem

Sorry mate, but Ramos did not make any miracle as yet.
He had very game against youngsters of Arsenal with Galas and Fabrigas and spurs played very well.

You can't judge coach based on 4 games and one of those was great (thanks to 2nd arsenal team)

Rafa is great, and look at him now..He is loosing plot and might be lucky to get Lpool to 4th place.
For stability u need long term investment in players as well as a coach..Eg. Alex Ferguson.I think 21 years in MU and Wenger ...

im just saying this, it is to early to scream on all sides and panic.
it will do just more damage than good

He didn't? They were loosing games, and last night they beat 5-1 Arsenal...YES I Know it was "just" a Curling Cup, but the coach changed the atmosphere in the club. The winning mentality is back.
He won UEFA consecutive...
Rafa won CL...

how can you compare those with our man by the side line?

And it is good that you enjoy some of the writings here, but we would all like to enjoy the game of Juve... nothing else matters ...

All of the coachs mentioned in denco post had crytics too, it is notmal to have two opinions, but this happenings now haven never been like this. This season we come from a level we have never been before and therefore it is right to scream and moan because it will take more than Ranieri's capabilities to be back at the level Juventus were. We should have built a team this year which will be just upgraded for the next season... does it look like that?

And the sooner we "correct" the path, the sooner we will reach our glory. The new coach could use the rest of the season to get the "feeling" of the team. I am not worried that the players will reach the CL spot. That is not endangered. But that is not enough :)

You just said that raneri wasn't letting our players play to the best of their ability and now you're saying the only reason we came back today was because of our players ability. That doesn't make sense to me. Trez and DP are playing great this year, both are having far better years then I expected so I don't quite see how raneri isn't letting them play to their "potential". Bringing in boumsong was a must. Cruz just ran over biri and biri didn't look that well after that collision. Plus biri is what 45 now? The guy can't play 90 minutes and since boumsong was our only defender on the bench (and why is that? Oh I remember its because our management hasn't signed anyone to replace the players injuired or givien away) he had to come on. Listen, we've been coming back and earning results like this all season, so this wasn't a surprise to me. What more can the guy do? We just went into the san siro and tied the best team in italy with more then half of our lineup out. Granted inter used a couple of their reserves but to be honest their reserves are better then most starting lineups. Raneri's plan was to take DP off at Halftime against sampdoria and play him a full 90 minutes against inter, which worked out perfectly. I don't know what you guys expect from him, look at our squad. Our new signings have done absolutely nothing (the exception is iaquinta) so basically we're playing with the same team we played with in serie b. And yet we're 3rd in the fucking league and have a legitimate chance of winning the coppa italia, granted we still have a long way to go. What did you expect from this season? A scudetto? Some people in here said we would be lucky to finish in a uefa cup spot. I'm sorry but with the team we have I think raneri has done okay. I don't like his tactics or his methods but it could be worse. Raneri is taking the blame for something that isn't his fault.
It's you problem if you can't understand that line, you don't have to be a genius, try reading it again.

I will tell you one last thing, Ranieri takes the blame for having these players in his squad, Didier had character, he refused to manage if the board won't let him do his job with full control. Ranieri preferred to be their "Dog" and obey whatever they say, he can't win this way, but he is the one ends with the responsibility of these, because he could refuse these players if he didn't want to have. If he didn't refuse, then he took the responsibility. That simple!

Cronios you probably know me more than the rest here how I am patient with managers and players. While everyone was against Capello, I was probably the only one to argue with everyone to support him. It was the same at Ancelotti time. You said it yourself, and I agree with you, that bringing Ranieri was a crime from the first place. And it is justified now, so what is the point in keeping him if he is the wrong guy? If we had balance, consistence and a good performance, why would I want him go? People are bullshitting me that taking Del Piero off from Sampdoria game was the reason he did good against Inter. That move cost us two golden points from serie A, what is this bullshit about? Is Coppa Italia our new Champions league?? is it our primary target to play careless in Serie A?? Everyone is forgetting that we played a shitty performance against Inter, and Del Piero's goal was totally an individual skill, not something Ranieri taught him to do. We were playing pathetic against a 10 men reserve team, and were down 2-0 down, that's is not an acceptable! and above that you add another defender to the team?? Everyone is claiming that that was a good move, doesn't know what football is about!

People, Snoop is 100% correct here.

There really is no point in keeping a manager who isn't up to our standards throughout the season just to fire him in the summer. That's a waste of time.

From what I've seen, there is little consistency in coaching currently at Juventus and it seems like our squad never works on team skills whatsoever. All we ever do is take the pitch in a straight 4-4-2, have our defensive midfielders protect the defense, and rely upon Del Piero and Nedved to save our asses in the tough matches. I'm sorry, but almost any manager could perform this task.

If we are just going to continue down this same road, there isn't a point in keeping Ranieri just to fire him in the summer. We should be looking for alternatives now, and if there is one, we should hire him immediately. There is no sense in keeping Ranieri when his replacement can do the job just as well or better, as Del Piero and Nedved will be there to save us until the new manager can become more acquainted with the side.
