I already knew that. Infact we already had this discussion months ago.

Thats all well and good, but I would hardly call it a victory. What next? Defeat child abuse by allowing parents to beat their children?

It dosent matter if there are more benefits by legalising such a thing. Legalising prostitution is as low as I would ever care to even consider. Its against every law ever and against every religion in the world. Its morally wrong.

Terrible aspects of life? IMO a man walking into a legal whorehouse and paying to have sex with a woman (who btw is probably only doing it because she is desperate for money, probably has about as much choice as those third world people your talking about) is dispicable and not a behaviour that should exist in any modern society.

Id rather have my country waste millions trying to fight the problem, Id rather have my country filled with illegal gangs whoring 2 year olds. Id rather fight it then sell it to tourists. Dosent matter if its something that can never be won, dosent mean you give up and make it your trade.

You can be happy about it if you want, but dont try to shine it up likes its perfect. I've been to amsterdam and its hardly a nice scene by any stretch of the imagination.

This is of course only my opinion, dont get offended and dont feel the need to belittle my opinion in the first place.

Lake maggiore, Italy :

- Once a bastion of left-wing resistance during the War, the area is now firmly in the hands of the centre right. People have become rich and their priorities have changed. What can I say.
- The lake, the mountains, the beautiful clean little villages and fvck all to do.
- Public infrastructure and services are decent. Busses run on time.
- People are law-abiding, hard-working and mostly social. A few "cafoni" can be spotted here and there.
- They really want to be Swiss, except for the anti-social and racist part. I don't like the Swiss, fvck them Appenzel faces.
- They like to make the Milanese who come here for the weekend look like the stupid asses many of them actually are.
- Quite a few are prejudiced against Southern Italians. This is after all the birthplace of the separatist movement "Lega Nord".
- They go to Switzerland to buy weed because it is now legal
- There has been quite an immigration influx from overseas in recent years. People are getting used to it though they're still quite provincial.
- The food is excellent. I mean this is Italy so what did you expect?? Though someone from, say, Parma, will probably tell you that we eat crap.
- People drive on the right. Fast but safely. Get used to it.
- The weather is starting to look like Northern Europe, i.e. no marked seasons anymore.
- Everyone takes the piss out of interisti. And I do mean everyone.


Brussels, Belgium :

- This is an autonomous region. Compromise seems to be the rule. What do you expect from a country that counts six different parliaments for 10 mil ppl? Don’t ask me more on the subject : I’m even more confused than you are.
- Trams and busses don’t run on time. The metro does of course. The highway is totally illuminated, all night long.
- People are quiet, submissive. Many are multilingual, especially the Flemmish, who despise the Walloons.
- They think it's ok to be on the dole for years but they hate you if you work at the EU.
- They go to Holland to buy weed and come back.
- They have a good sense of self-derision. They are used to be ridiculed by the French.
- Many other nationalities are represented. This city truly is a melting pot.
- There are excrements almost everywhere. Indeed, every dog owns a Belgian.
- French fries, which are actually Belgian, are considered to be a dish. No comment.
- Gangs of Arab thugs stir shit constantly. The locals don’t seem to care, except on election day when the nazis get a third of the votes.
- People don’t know how to drive. They really don’t.
- The quality and variety of the beer has no equals elsewhere in Europe. No question.

In San Francisco, we...

* Look like Communists relative to the rest of the country (e.g., by SF standards, my neighborhood had a relatively moderate turnout for Bush in the last election: 15%. Some are more like 10% or lower.)
* Listen to too much National Public Radio
* Have far too many hippies and homeless people due to our tolerance and sensitivity to "alternative lifestyles"
* Are an immense ethnic mix of Latinos (and not just Mexicans -- lots of folks across Latin America, including Peru, El Salvador, Columbia, etc.), Asians (many Chinese, Taiwanese, Indians, Pakistani, Vietnamese, Filipinos, and Koreans), and even Russians... and yet relatively few blacks, Africans, Cubans, Dominicans, etc.
* There's also a lot of Brazilian and English expats here, IMO.
* Have done for the burrito what Chicago has done for pizza and what Brittany has done for the French crepe
* Don't bat an eye for people decked out in the strangest attire or doing the most unusual things on the street (we're pretty jaded as if we've seen it all)
* Are known for our gay population, but it's smaller than anything in New York City, L.A., or what's in a lot of European cities (just that they tend to be more politically vocal here)
* Actually have quite a lot of strip clubs (for heterosexual men, that is!) -- with a division between the nasty ones downtown and ones that are actually treated a little more like a more "upscale" thing near North Beach
* Will drive around in gas guzzling S.U.V.s with "Love Mother Earth" bumper stickers over the exhaust pipe (go figure)
* Look down our noses at Oakland across the Bay and treat crossing the Bay Bridge as if we're packing sled dogs for an Antarctic expedition
* Have a ton of great restaurants with just about every food imaginable, available, and good (save that we're light on Eastern European food, save for one Polish restaurant, and I think are underrepresented in good Greek food). We don't just have "Italian" food, we have Campania, Ligurian, Emilia-Romagna, etc. I even get Tibetan delivery from down the street. And we distinguish the difference between Ethiopian and Eritrian food.
* Heavily support the concept of "medical marijuana" and have licensed outlets for it, much to the laughs of the rest of the country
* Live within close distance of a lot of varied open space preserves: hills, fields, forests, redwood forests, cliffside beaches with surfing, mountains, lakes, desert
* Get almost no rainfall between May and October ... with April/May and Sept/Oct being the warmest time of year, with June-August being cold and foggy
* Are over 400 miles/650km from Los Angeles (we're as much neighbors as Vermont and Ohio) and hate the guts of Los Angelinos. We've proposed breaking the state apart for many years.
* The ocean water here is too cold for swimming (Alaskan currents: good for seals and sharks, not people), so beachfront property is cheaper than the property inland
* Have too many people who value the lives and rights of house pets more than people

Again, that is wrong. There are several programmes and subsidies that help the women and men who do this work if they want to get out of the business. But the fact is that it earns A LOT of money and most women and men working there don't want to give up their high income.

I'm not saying it is perfect; nothing is. But I do believe it is a better way of taking care of a massive social problem. Of here, the people who work in the prostitution business have a true choice. In your country, they don't.

I don't, I respect it. And I wouldn't want to force any form of Dutch legislation on another country because it would undoubtedly clash with the local culture. Every country needs to figure this out on its own.

Ive been to amstelveen and a tiny town near rotterdam called helloveotsluis. Loved the windmills and the people. I think its great that almost all of the dutch are gifted with a second language because of the english subtitiling on television.

Naa Zlatan is not too popular from he's actions on the pitch in MFF. Some love him some hate him. The first one is the most common though.
