Deschamps disappointed in Juve Saturday 21 October, 2006

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Didier Deschamps wasn’t too happy with Juventus’ performance in the 1-0 victory away to Triestina.

“We struggled and it was a very difficult game,” he said of their sixth consecutive win. “When you suffer to get a result, those points feel all the sweeter.”

Cristiano Zanetti scored for the second week running to secure a win that took Juve out of their 17-point Calciopoli penalty and into real figures on two points.

“Triestina were very organised and didn’t give us much space, while we were too slow in moving the ball around. We had trouble imposing our tempo on the game and it took too long to supply the forwards. It’s not easy to break down a side like this if you don’t spread the play

very pathatic performance by juve , we did not deserve to win but we were lucky
the coach should do something in the next games , anyway the 3 points were important to move up in the table but with this form you cant win stronger teams

Zanetti was the man of the match , all the players including dp and trez were crap (zalayetta plays in slow motion) why bojinov was not included instead???

Anyway, here in Italy journalists are all talking about this "scandalous" help to Juventus on the Triestina field, Triestina's president said he feels "penalized" (yeah, tell us about penalized :groan: ) and everyone is completely ignoring (for example) that Genoa scored its first goal in a clearly evident offside today. We are the only thieves of the day (not that it's something new).

Not to mention that I saw 3 penalties that were given in other mathes in Serie B, without the incriminations.

In 7 matches we have collected 19 points with one draw and six consecutive victories. We have scored 14 goals and conceded 2. That's a good start! We shouldn't judge Deschamps now.

Instead we should put our faith in Didier Deschamps. It's a tough situation to get relegated with such a heavy point penalty that -17 is. Mostly psychologically it is a blow for us. And that's without mentioning losing Cannavaro, Emerson and Zambrotta. He has had to do with a team that is weaker than last season.

Slowly the players will begin to adjust to life in Serie B and begin to understand each other better on the pitch. Time is on our side. We will improve match for match.

well, I finaly saw matches of juve this season.. the last two games. and i have to adimt that I am really woried about the performence.. when the opponent had better strikers and we did not have gigi they could have easily scored 1-2 goals..

there is alot of room for improvement..

Juventus picked up their sixth straight win in Italy's Serie B on Saturday, with a 1-0 victory at Triestina, but Genoa remain top of the table after a 4-3 win at home to Cesena.

Juventus, demoted to Serie B and given a 17-point penalty by a sports tribunal which was investigating match-fixing allegations, are now on plus two points after Cristiano Zanetti hit the winner in Trieste.

Zanetti met a low cross from Czech midfielder Pavel Nedved to drive home impressively from the edge of the area in the 33rd minute.

Didier Deschamps's side had to hang on to their advantage after defender Giorgio Chiellini was dismissed in the 70th minute for a second yellow card. :stress:

Triestina wasted several chances to equalize before they were also reduced to 10 men five minutes from the end, when Davide Marchini was sent off for a foul on Nedved.

In Serie A a 64th-minute strike from Antonio Busce gave Empoli a 2-2 draw at Messina to leave the two sides on nine points, five behind leaders Inter Milan.

Christian Rigano put Messina ahead in the ninth minute with a close range header from a deep Arturo Di Napoli cross but Luca Saudati then brought the visitors level in the 32nd minute.

Japanese midfielder Mituso Ogasawara restored Messina's lead five minutes after the break with a smart half-volley from the edge of the area -- his first goal in Serie A. :frown2:

But Empoli grabbed a deserved point when Busce fired home a superb curling shot without the outside of his right foot to make it 2-2 in the 64th minute. :blah:
