We really had a ton of chances in the first half, our offense showed that we could pretty much do what they wanted out there...the finishing was generally poor...we really could have had a 3 or 4 goal lead in the first half...I'm not worried though, we will improve our finishing, I'm sure
Trez was finally rewarded late in the first half with a nice finish, and DP had a PERFECT free kick goal early into the second half for a 2-0 lead
Then, things got very chaotic...its our defense, or lack thereof.
Vicenza pressed forward, and our defense never looked too comfortable. They left all their attacking for the second half, and while Chellini was covering a forward in front of our net, Raimondi was left all alone on the left side, to put an easy goal past Gigi. I thought Chellini should have been covering Raimondi, but then, who would have covered the attacker right in front of Gigi ?? Kovac was nowhere to be found. Its errors like these that need to be worked out....I know when we play a 4-4-2, it would have been the LM's job to come back and cover, but we were playing a 4-3-1-2, and really didnt have a LM
Immediately after, Boumsong's error gave Vicenza a break-away, but luckily the attacker doesnt know how to shoot...otherwise it would have (should have) been a tie game
I have NO confidence in our defense...not in any of them. Tudor is our best defender, IMO (is he injured, AGAIN ??)
I am making a prediction that both DP and Neddy wont make it through the season without being injured...Serie B is a much rougher league than A
