I HEARD THAT DD AND COBOLLI HAVE CRITCISED THE REFEREE FARINA!!!
WAS HE HE BIASED 2 GENOA?!!! :smoke:
Yep. He seemed like he wanted to be the super star of the evening.
So you have the penalty (with yellow to Biri, who hadn't done anything at all) and many other little things. Fouls not awarded, yellows not awarded..

At a point I saw Camo telling Farina "You're making mistakes, many of them, these are wrong decisions and even you know it". Nedved made the foul that costed him the red out of rage because the Genoa player had made a foul and this was not awarded (and the guy didn't get the yellow he deserved). It was the uptenth time it had happened and Pavel took his anger out on the ankle of that other genoano.
Gigi, Balza, Boji and some others complained too. Gigi said that penalizing us just for the sake of doing it isn't going to bring any justice.

We all know the ref sucked badly, but we should start focusing on the fact that these young players that everyone says should lead us to Serie A, and be our starters there should all have their heads examined...

Paro and Marchisio are nothing more than substitute material for Serie B, and have shown their worth (or lack thereof ) in the past few games. Having these two play in tandem is going to give you nothing more than a piss-poor midfield...unless they are playing together in C2.

Palla isnt ready to step up to this level, and Boji has a lot of learning to do, before he could ever replace a Trez or DP

Kovac and Boumsong should be sold immediately...Kovac showed why he couldnt break into the first team in the past few seasons, and Boumsong is a walking defensive mistake

Camo and Neddy couldnt do enough to make up for all the give-aways and mistakes that the youngsters were making... watching the game almost reminded me of a sunday morning kickaround, with all the mistakes we made

Genoa had the better offense, both in passing and shots, and made our guys look quite ordinary...THANK GOD FOR GIGI !!!!

I am not for having all these youngsters as our starters...we need EXPERIENCE, otherwise this "expected promotion" that everyone has will turn to utter disappointment in late May

Look at all the top teams- Chelsea, Man U, Arsenal, Milan, Barca, (and even our Juve of the past), etc...they bring in skillful, experienced players and superstar youngsters to win for them

I'm sorry, but Paro and Marchisio are not Cesc Fabregas

So I finally got to see this one for myself. There are some areas where I'll agree with Vinman, but other areas I will disagree on.

Overall, yes the refereeing was a bit shoddy. But I've seen far worse. Juve's backline was pretty much horrible in this match save for Balzaretti -- he and Gigi were the only two who basically held it together for us throughout the match. The midfield needs to assert more ball control and short passing.

But one of the major glaring problems we have is in attack. We so miss Trezeguet in there. When we desperately need one- and two-touch passing and shooting, instead we get three- and four-step dribbles, six touches, etc. Palladino didn't play poorly, but Bojinov combined with him left us without any true finishers...which we needed in this one.

Gigi - 7 - Anytime you save a penalty, it's as good as a great goal. He let the ball out and had a bad deflection here and there. But overall he was solid and a big reason we didn't lose.

Balzaretti - 7 Fantastic on defense. But I'm concerned when he's often the guy in the center clearing the ball out. It was as if he was always having to make up for Kovac and Boumsong being out of position or getting beat. Offensively he did little. But defensively he was a rock (save for one slip early in the first half), to all the doubters out there.

Boumsong - 4.5 - Horrid. Defensively, he was always on the wrong foot, playing in the wrong space, letting the ball get by him, and making clearances that put us in the same amount of danger at a slightly different position. Ironically, he was a threat upfield on set pieces -- with some nice headers.

Kovac - 5 - Almost as bad as Boumsong, but not quite. He looks slow. He was often caught off-guard. He was not making contact with the ball when needed. Some of his downfield passes weren't bad, but defensively he was a liability that Gigi and Balza had to cover for.

Birindelli - 5 - The PK wasn't his fault -- that was a lame call and looked like a standard play. But he got burned a lot.

Nedved - 7 - Sure, he got ejected. Still, my MOM. Brilliant lazer of a set piece to put us on top. Very involved and relentless. Few mistakes.

Paro - 5.5 - Won a couple of challenges, but otherwise lost the ball too often. He did have some bright spots creatively helping some things in front of goal, however.

Marchisio - 6 - He played a great game last week. This week he was just pretty good. What he lacked in control he made up for in pressing his opponents, making good challenges, and in accurate deeper passes.

Camoranesi - 6.5 - For two matches running, easily our most creative offensive force on the pitch. Overall I was pleased with his play, and he did not make many mistakes.

Bojinov - 5 - Squandered every opportunity given to him. Held on to the ball too long. He seems to think to much and not just "do" -- the guy didn't seem to have any instincts. Needs to be a little more unselfish and to get rid of the ball much sooner. He added nothing.

Palladino - 6 Good, but not great, match. Was playing a sort of playmaker role, which was partially effective but left us without any real striking threat with Boji playing as he did.

Subs:

Zebina - 5 - Not on the pitch very long, but it only took him all of seven minutes to earn his first yellow.

DD - 5.5 - Can't blame him for injuries and poor refereeing. But he could have done more with his subs. The defense looked poor and disorganized, for one. Our attack, and although the bench had few options, lacked any finishing. But some changes should have been made. More than putting on Zebina, at least.

Considering that I think the result was relatively fair and earned to a degree, that's pretty scary I suppose. :D

The only up side was that Napoli bungled aswell. Our away form needs to improve, as its our home form which is keeping us in contention of a serie A return. STOP!!! Talking bout our serieA return before its happened. Talk about complacency! Its time to roll up our dam sleaves and get on with it. Moaning about the referee and decisions against us IS gonna be expected after what we've been through. We're putting ourselves in this situation. Get the results stop talking about serieA and who we're going to buy, and get our team back to where we belong.

Nedved will get only one game IMO. DP, Trez, Guzman will be back so we're fine. De Ceglie could do the job for a game too.

i think your overreacting a bit, after all, a lot has changed. Yes, some of those youngsters are not gona turn out to be world class players, but well in the situation juve is right now, those world class players wont come to juve and we have to hope that those who have stayed will stay here for the rest of this season. Secondly it takes time especially for youngster to adapt with the system, and thats exactly because they are not expierenced enough, but if they will keep playing, they will get that expierence and if we manage to get to serie a, they will be (ok not all, but some will be) up for the task.

I saw the match, albeit on a relatively small stream(which might influence my judgement). I barely noticed Marchisio and Paro playing...

I think Zanetti will be back. We could play 3 men in the mid with DP-Trez and Camo in front.
