Juve to remember boys
Monday 18 December, 2006
Juventus will face Bologna on Tuesday night with special shirts to honour the memory of the two youth players who died on Friday.

The club are currently in mourning after the loss of Alessio Ferramosca and goalkeeper Riccardo Neri, both aged 17, who drowned in a freak accident at the club’s training ground.

As a sign of respect to the pair, Juventus – who cancelled Friday’s game against Cesena – will face Bologna on Tuesday with shirts that will have the names of the boys on them.

“We will do all that we can as a club to help in the investigation,” stated Juventus President Giovanni Cobolli Gigli. “I’ve seen the pain that their families are going through.”

Juventus have endured a terrible year, one of the darkest in their history, but Cobolli Gigli put everything into perspective.

“Losing a Scudetto is nothing compared to this,” he stated. “To lose two boys at that age is a tragedy for their family and us.”

Messina will be the referee..

I hate when these referees like rosetti, farina messina and so on are officials to our match, they want the attention all for themselves adn the best way to do so after calciopoli is by hitting at us.. hope messina will prove me wrongg
.....and Trefolini! Yeah, me too! That :nerd: messina is an out & out interesti too! This will be a hard game; - messina will see to that!

We'll get screwd in this match, no question. Even if the ref started as a neutral, pressure from the hostile crowd would make him feel a lamb among wolves.

Many circumstances make this a very difficult match.

great stuff, will their names be where the players names are or on the side?
I'm guessing that before the match, on the way out, a;; the players will be wearing shirts with the players names and their numbers. And during the game they will be wearing a band and maybe a sweatband with their names on them

paro will start ahead of marchisio. and palladino/ de Cegile/ guzman will play the left flank. for some dumb reason didi prefers balza over chiellni, so i think he will stick to that. i think didi will start trez just because he has gotten almost a week of training.

yepp i cant really understand why he is keeping chiellini on the bench... okej balza is not playing bad but at least start with balza on the right and chiellini on the left, i cant stand it that chiellini is left outside

    Press conference : Didier Deschamps

Deschamps was still visibly upset as he gave his pre-match press conference at the Olimpico this afternoon, following on from the team’s training session there ahead of tomorrow’s away trip to Bologna. The coach was asked whether the tragedy of Friday night has affected his side’s concentration: “Despite carrying out our preparations for the match - replied the Frenchman - it’s normal that we think of the grief the families of these two boys are going through; we’ve all been struck to the heart by this tragedy, these have been difficult days. In moments like this, football counts for very little”. The journalists then turned their attention to football, and the clash with Bologna: “In my opinion they are better than both Napoli and Genoa. Tomorrow’s game is certainly a real head-to-head, although I don’t know whether it will give us any concrete indications for the future; it will be more an evaluation of the form these two teams are in at the moment. Bologna are well-organised, they have experienced players capable of making a difference, they’re in good shape mentally and their results are there for all to see. It’s a team that’s confident in its own abilities and the fact there’s going to be a sell-out crowd tomorrow will give them an added boost. Bellucci is in great form, it’s not for nothing he’s the leading scorer in Serie B; we need to keep him under control throughout as he has good movement, an accurate shot and he’s very quick”. And how are Juventus from a physical point of view? “This weekend we did our best to work hard, despite everything that’s happened. Trezeguet is available, although he’s still not quite 100%, the same story as Friday night. Del Piero is in a better condition than him because he’s played at least half an hour. With the game called-off on Friday, Zebina has had more time than predicted to recover his strength”. And Chiellini, who was set to play at centre back on Friday? “Friday night’s choice was down to an ankle problem with Kovac, but it’s a valid solution never the less. Chiellini has the right qualities to be a centre back, even if he’s played more as a full back up until now. Having a left-footer at the back also helps when taking the ball out of defence”.

On the field for Alessio and Riccardo

On occasion of Juventus’ trip to Bologna, the Bianconeri have requested permission from the Lega Calcio to observe a minute’s silence before kick-off and to play the match wearing black armbands in memory of Alessio Ferramosca and Riccardo Neri, who tragically lost their lives last Friday. Before the game, the Juventus players will wear white shirts bearing the names of Alessio and Riccardo.

as far as the starting lineup is concerned, when is DD going to realize that Zala has no talent or skills, and only wastes a substitution ???

The lineup for the Cesena game was supposed to be: Buffon; Birindelli, Boumsong, Chiellini, Balzaretti; Camoranesi, Zanetti, Paro, Palladino; Zalayeta, Del Piero.

The reason for not playing Kovac was because he didn't speak Italian. :| That's almost as good as playing Kovac instead of Thuram because he passes the ball better to the strikers.
