Thats more like in the land of the blind the one-eyed man is king. If you are going to win Cl neither is relevant to your team. They both have their qualities, i grant you that but since Appiah is younger, he is the better option.
Sateeh please can you explain to me what you meant by the squad Lippi inherited from Ancelotti was good enough to win Cl? Nedved was very crap when he first came and it took him middle of season to find any kind of form when Lippi moved him to the center. Thuram was totally in and out and we were suffereing from the huge hole left by the great man Zz. Parramatti was in this side for crying out loud sp was Amoruso so please explain to me how that squad is anything as good as this one. The only Lippi squad comparable to this one is the 1 with Vieri, Boksic, Zz and company when we lost to Dortmund, the rest of Lippi's squads have been far inferior to this but have played much better football

Arsenal sux . I can't believe we lost to them. It's like losing to a Serie C2 team. Hope Juve plays normal on Wednesday and butchers them.
Arsenal are a good side and cannot be compared to a serie c side... they have been in the CL for a number of seasons and undoubtly cannot be underestimated. If anyone was more like a serie c side it was us..

I dont think that squad which had the lieks of boksic, zz and vieri is anything like ours. Christian vieri at his best was almost certainly be better than many of our stikers. Boksic at that time had pace unlike any of our players and the wingers were determined as ever (not saying our aint). The most difference was that of Zizou he played in the role behind the strikers, and to be perfectly honest we aint got someone like him, yes nedved is good behind the strikers but Zizou was magical. Jugovic was also a great player for us he may have at times played in the defensive midfielder position but whats important is whenever we played in europe all the players had that sheer venemosity to do well. There was a certain vibe then.. unlike now.. we need an AMC, and of course a coach with a brain, and a fast forward.

yeah, he did so well, that they were knocked out in the group stage, fool !!

he really made a difference...
Yay great logic, so if a team gets knocked out of the Cl, then it means all the players of that team (without exception) are bad

Another problem with Capello is that he really does not need a 20 man squad as thats useless to him, he just needs about 16 as those are the guys he keeps on using until they are totally burnt out both physically and mentally. The only thing that rotates with him are his tactics which goes from boring to stubborness and back again

i thought he had a very good squad, we bought many players with the money we got from zidane.Higly rated players like thuram, neddy,buffon,salas,trez.. so imo he had a pretty good squad. I know everyone had their problems but on paper that side was pretty good. Pretty much similar to this squad, which on paper loooks pretty strong however on reality its a bit different.

But my comparison was about accomplishments, especially the CL... how come Lippi in his 2nd spell didnt WIN the CL ? When in the 2nd season he was in our main objective was the CL as that dreadfull 3rd season of 04 ? ppl would say well he didnt have the quality cap has now ? well why didnt he bring in better quality to win the CL ?
am not bashing Lippi, i love him to death and i rate as one of the best in the world, but ppl cant just bash cap and forget our past failures. Reaching the final and losing is not an accomplishment imo, its a failure.

to jog your memory...

we should have won the CL in 2003, but without Neddy, we just couldnt pull it together. Had he been in, then there is NO doubt we would have won

It took Milan to win in a shootout, and we all know thats almost like the flip of a coin, to get a winner

I would rather lose in a shootout final, then get EMBARASSED in the quarters the way we did against the Gunners

CapeLOL can go to hell !!!

I don't understand all this criticism about capello. This man has won you 2 serie titles(this year its almost over) and you want to whine about his TACTICS!!!! If arsenal ever had a manager like that we would worship him.

I don't like his tactics but at least he is a nice guy unlike mourinho who is an arrogant prick. In fact I think in the second leg Juve have a BIG chance of winning the tie because of the absence of Fabregas and eboue(Hope they are OK!!!).

Juve have a fearsome attack with the return of Nedved and DelPiero and so honestly I am scared.

IS DEL PIERO BACK:D :D :D :D PRAISE THA LORD!!!!!
(yeah i hope Fab and Eboue get better:toast: )

Wenger has done alright. Not great, but not bad. If that makes someone the best in the world, we have lowered our standards unfortunately.

I'd take Mourinho as a coach over Wenger in a heartbeat, FWIW.
I agree that Wenger is not the best coach in the world. He is OK.But if you guys say Mourinho is much better I think you guys are really contradicting yourself.

Mourinho has the same tactics as Capello(defensive, physical, winning loads of trophies) but still you guys criticize Capello. I am telling you Chelsea cannot win the Champions League with Mourinho's tactics.

those same tactics won him the champions league with porto.

it goes without saying you need your fair share of luck to win the champions league.

ie barca getting away with a blatant handball for a peno
