Imo we performed a good imitation of Sampdoria today and we are very close to the original. We only need to try harder and, of course, buy Poli, Pazzini and Ziegler. With those three I think we'll be as good as the real Sampdoria and finally achieve our goal. Who knows, just like the real Sampdoria did last year, we might get a fluke 4th place finish one day.
Thats scary but very true. I have been saying that Di Carlo didnt do a fuck in Samp and the sides look fucking similair. Ranieri installed a different system at Roma atleast in a very short period.
Ranieri > Delneri

And this was the one game you'd expect him to win even in sleep.I mean he was their coach he must know every single weak point they have FFS!

I applaud this assessment.

I'd be happy with that, you don't fluke a 4th placed finish over 38 games.

What I wouldn't be happy with is not taking that CL money and using it to improve the quality of the team.

On the game, who seriously expected us to score with Amauri our only fit striker, it was painfully obvious.

What do you mean he must know their weak points? After he shared his knowledge with them and installed his mentality, they don't have any weak points.

What was I thinking.
Of course it wasn't a fluke. He did it many times before with other teams and he'll do it in the future again. It was his vast knowledge, understanding of the game and great tactics that brought Samp the 4th place ahead of the worst Juve in history, the "10 coaches per season" Palermo and Donadoni's Napoli.
If he's only given a chance to lead a big team with players who earn 10 times more than what his players in Samp earned. If he was 4th with Samp he'll undoubtedly win it all with a big team.

No? I've heard many times that he's a fan. I know for sure Ale is one of his fav players ever in an interview he made last year.
That comes as a surprise to be honest. Maybe you're right but I'm pretty sure he's a huge German fan. It showed in the last world cup.
In any case, I know Ali Saed El Ka3bi is definitely a Juve fan but other than that, I'm not really sure.

Pepe-Amauri
This must go in the history books

Starting in attack with a player who hasn't scored in serie A for +11 months and a winger who only recently was considered for the LB position. That was our freaking attack
Well, it's not like more was expected from a coach who defended 0:0 while playing with 2 men more.
We didn't start with Pepe Amauri, we started a 4-5-1/4-3-3

OK so now he takes no credit, I think you're being rather silly. He's only managed two teams with the potential to even reach 4th place in Serie A, and Samp were of course not even favoured and relied on others. The other was a Roma in turmoil. He also finished 5th and 7th with tiny Chievo.

Either way it changes nothing for me, he has to prove he can coach a club this size and I'll judge it on the league finish.

I was stupid for thinking we would sign some really good players in this transfer window that might even give us a push for the scudetto but since the Chievo game everything has just gone to shit there have been know positive signs.
