Legrottaglie misses Samp trip Friday 26 September, 2008

Nicola Legrottaglie pulled up during training this afternoon and will be out of Saturday’s game at Sampdoria.

The defender had a muscular problem in today’s session and, according to the Bianconeri medical staff, it is not a serious issue.


However, he will remain in Turin as a precautionary measure so that he can recover in good time for the Champions League tie against BATE Borisov on Tuesday.


Legrottaglie is the latest addition to the injury list for Juve’s trip to Marassi, joining Gigi Buffon, David Trezeguet, Cristiano Zanetti and Jonathan Zebina.


It is likely that Olof Mellberg will step in to replace Legrottaglie in central defence alongside Giorgio Chiellini.


There is some good news for Claudio Ranieri, as Mauro Camoranesi is back from injury.
