Was Marcotti (Inter fan, I believe, though he doesn't admit it) and some guy I didn't know who thought Milan should have had a penalty in the last minute today.
Sheridan Bird was the other guy, I've noticed him around the calcio scene a few times, think he writes for World Soccer magazine but European football in general.
Was a nice move from Vucinic to drift wide instead of just offering short to take the ball to feet like normal.
Gastaldello followed him when he went wide and it was Gastaldello being pulled out of position that opened the space for Vidal to play the pass through.
Not that Gastaldello was at all to blame - another Samp player ought to have had the awareness to plug that gap.
Sampdoria looked solid in this game even after conceding. I find it encouraging that we remained patient, kept working away and eventually got the goal. This is the kind of ground-out victory which wins titles...it's just strange to see one on matchday 1. A wee bit dissapointed not to see more of Llorente in this but glad Carlos got a goal and of course very happy with the win.
Of course, but Vucinic's pass and movement to create the space was great as well. It was a wonderful team goal, all four of the players involved deserve the credit.
