Missing the best CB and the best left WBL surely will negatively affect the defensive performance.
What I don't understand is, Conte once said that 4-3-3 is more defensive than 3-5-2, so why we didn't see it after the horrible show in the past 2 games?

Next game will be the most crucial test for Conte.
In case you or anybody else hadn't noticed, Parma was playing with 10 men behind the ball.

Do you guys think Lazio is a challanger or are they just being fortunate with some easy games for now?
Lazio has a well balanced team IMO, but let's not forget both them an Napoli played and won last two league games at home, which, combined with our poor form, led to our adventage in table being cut down to 3 points.

The goals will keep flying in down our left side until a real solution to fill Chiello's and Asa's boots is brought in.
Vidal was in serious beast mode and if the rest of our players showed half the desire he did, our performances wouldn't look as lethargic and complacent as they do at the minute.

Nottingham is right.

We will concede more goals in their absence. Let's just hope we are able to outscore our opponents.

Crap match. With a lot of displays this season I get the impression that this Juve has become a lot more arrogant in the way they play, and it has become a habit of theirs to have a button which is turned off for 90% of the game, and kept on only when they realise they need to win the game. Even the veterans are looking majorly out of shape lately.

I think there's a strong chance of things picking up around the time we play Celtic though. Chiellini and Asamoah will be returning, Marchisio will be back with the squad, and JuveConte has already gone through poor spells of form. Last winter time, the team drew 5 games in a row (instigating 'Drawventus' from members here), and then suddenly pulled everything together (the 0-5 win vs Viola) and the team went on the best run of games we've had at the club in years. The difference between then and now would be the self confidence this team seems to have, and it hasn't been a good thing. For example, I thought they treated Milan with a lot less respect than they should have at the San Siro in November.

Something has to be sorted with Asamoah gone. I don't like the idea of playing Isla and Padoin as a left wing back with the little threat they'll have on that side, and Conte isn't giving De Ceglie a run of games. Time to play a 4-3-3 in his absence? I didn't even mention Chiellini being gone, there have been a lot of goals as a result of poor defending by his replacements in this as well.

Draw was probably a fair result.

First half was poor.

Juve never threatened to move the ball fast enough or well enough to really open Parma up.

The defence was also very poor in the first half.

What's the point of playing three CBs if you aren't going to use the security that gives to go and get tight to forwards early? Was crazy the way that Juve were allowing Belfodil to drop short or drift wide to collect the ball and start running. With the extra CB you should be marking against two forwards and not giving them the freedom to run at the defence - especially when it is Pirlo and not a DM you have in front of the defence.

Juve were then looking pretty comfortable in the second half, having got the goal, until the ball was stupidly lost in midfield to gift an equaliser.

Thought Bonucci and Caceres might have done better, but it was tough to recover after the ball was lost like that. Juve look for the defence to spread wide to assist in ball retention, so there is always going to be the odd moment when you are going to be fucked if the ball is given away. Still, being ahead, I'd have looked for the defence to be more compact. Bonucci may have had a better chance of stopping the goal than Caceres. Neither were going to catch the player, but Bonucci might have been able to narrow the target that was there for the ball to be threaded through if he'd read the situation really well and quickly.

I assumed the loss of the ball was just down to some good old self-indulgence from Vucinic, but I see that Conte is claiming it was his fault as he called for Vucinic to try the dummy.

Either way, it was a stupid thing to do and, whoever was at fault, it shows a lack of game intelligence to take an unnecessary risk like that when ahead.

Vidal had a good game.

In games like that - where both teams are playing the same system - you really see the lack of the something extra in the Juve team to open things up.

They don't have anyone capable of beating his man one-on-one on anything resembling a consistent basis.

They don't - unless Vucinic is playing and playing well - have anyone capable of attracting a couple of opposition players in order to open up space somewhere else on the pitch.

Add in Juve's consistently poor finishing and you have a recipe for making hard work of a lot of games that ought to be relatively straightforward wins.

Was just gonna write that . The physical preparation has been made so that the team is in top shape when CL starts again

And I think this is also our drop form, last year, between Juve-Siena and Genoa-Juve, we drew 6 games and won 1. (D: Siena, Parma, Chievo, Bologna, Genoa, Milan. W: Catania)
At this time last year tuz was in the same panic mode.
Have faith, it's always better to be in top form at the end of the season.

That makes close to no sense. We're going to be playing 2 games a week during that period, and CL games against sides like Celtic (English football) are intense. If anything, that's when we'll be at our physical worst.

We played mediocre Milan in Juventus stadium, and we paid the price for that physically today. It's going to be a lot worse when we play a not-so-mediocre and incredibly more physical Celtic in Scotland.

I don't think this Juve side as it is right now has enough quality and depth to compete on more than one front. League + CL + Coppa is too much. Just hope Pirlo's legs and knees don't buckle under all that strain, cause that's when we're proper fucked.

Don't take his words seriously, he's defending the team.
Another way to look at that is to say that he's defending the stupid decisions he made.
