Mutu's position in my lineup isn't set in stone you know. I would give both Del Piero and Mutu free roles behind Trezeguet and instruct at least one of them to support Chiellini on the left side at all times. Mutu's best position is in attack (my opinion anyways) so I'd allow him to take turns playing towards the left with DP. Chiellini would NOT have to hold the left by himself. Perhaps Zambrotta would be somewhat wasted in my formation but isn't he already being wasted by Capello? He doesn't get forward near as much as he did when Lippi was here so I don't think I'm wasting him.
Also, you say that people shouldn't put Mutu upfront in their formations because it simply won't happen with Cap at the helm, but I clearly stated that that is what I would play. I would set up like this:

----------------------Chimenti
Zambrotta - Kovac - Cannavaro - Chiellini
-----------------Emerson---Vieira
--Camoranesi
---------------------------------------Mutu
------------------------------Del Piero
-----------------Trezeguet

Mutu and DP would interchange positions doing what they can to create chances and make us dangerous on the counter-attack with Trezeguet there to finish off what comes his way. I said earlier this season that I think we should try Thuram at RB and Zambrotta at LB but I'm not sure if now is the right time to be experimenting, however, you are correct in saying that Chiellini could potentially hurt us if he starts.

I was also thinking about something like this if Vieira isn't fit, but it ain't gonna happen:

-----------------Chimenti
----Thuram---Kovac---Cannavaro
--Zambrotta--Camo---Emo---Chiellini
--------------------Mutu
-----------------Trez----Ibra
- i dont think soo, last year he was one of the best attacking LBs in the world. This year due to zebina's injury then he had to take a more defensive role on the right.Yes Zebina's injury caused instability to the juve defense.Mostly cuz he is more of a third defender than a RB.I dont think he is wasted, in the Sampa game he was pushing alot infront. It depends mostly on who is infront of him in the midfield, i think.

-i agree , he looks like a liability.I dont know why cap didnt stick with Balzaretti, he looked good in midfield against Sampa. And also against empoli a while back.I hope he takes Giorgio's position cuz he is really not convincing me .

-changing the formation at this period isnt the best idea.So i think that the best option is to stick with pessoto on the right and zambo on the left.Pessoto is old, but i think he is the safest option.

Yeah, Del Piero's game not "physical", he can't get aerian balls...etc. That's what folks were saying before last year's game...REMEMBER?
thats very right....BUT u can't just put a player and expect him to play that magical game.U have to realistic with ur choices as much as u can.I think if there were better options than they should be used.

Also as someone said here before me , playing Alex in the 2nd half would be a better option as the OLD Milan defence will have probelms against a FRESH alex :fero:

then bring it on milan, pressure is all on them.
Exactly...If BP(Big Pat) is ready to face Milan, then the pressure will be on them.....Even If we're playing them in San Sairo....

Goalie
Chiementi

Having watched both Abbiati & Chimenti I would definitely start Chimenti. The coming of Abbiati might just be the tonic that he needed. He was impressive in both games & was very vocal last night. Made the defence wake up.
Defence
Thuram - Kovac - Canna - Zambrotta

Chiellini is another pretender who needs to be benched in this game. Cap has tried to fit him in but this has only resulted in Zambrotta being wasted. Get Zambro back on the left so that he can contribute to the attack. Kovac was amazing last night! Thuram has been doing a lot of covering for the right back this season so I think he will be comfortable there. Canna is a rock as always, you gotta love his last ditch give it all tackles that are always brilliant.
Midfield
Camo - Emerson - Viera - Mutu

Having watched almost all our matches this season I think we need Viera back in the midfield ASAP because since he got injured we have had to grind out results. Gianiccheda & Emerson combo is not working at all. Camo should start & through Mutu on the left instead of Neddy & give him the license to roam into the middle. Both his goals have come as a result of him drifting towards the middle.
Forward
Zlatan - Trez

Most people will crucify me for not including DP. He has been good thus far but this will be a physical game so it might be wise to start him from the bench. The other thing is that he seems to get tired after the first 45 minutes so why not bring him in when Milan's defence is already tired? Trez has been sharp & when you need goals he is always there. Service for the midfield has not been good lately & that is why we need the killer instincts of Trez. Zlatan will cause problems for Milan defenders there is no question about it. Am seeing a card for Stam, let it be red.

Im pretty confident of a win. The momentum is with us, the pressure is on Milan, and so are the injured men. Not to mention Vieri and Gilardino are not yet an established forward attacking line- Cannavaro and Thuram will be able to handle them.

My line up for this game:

------------------Abbiati----------------------
--Zebina----Thuram--Cannavaro---Zambrotta
------Camo----Viera---Emerson-----Nedved
-------------------DP-----Trez-----------

i thought zebina isnt fit yet? anyway i dont think he should play even if hes a 100%, he doesnt have any match practice , and i think he would be a bit rusty.

Who do u guys think should be the RB? since almost everyone here agrees the chiellini shouldn't play...
I think pessoto is the best choice given the circumstances.

I'd like to see this formation vs Milan:

---------------Chimenti
Blasi Thuram Cannavaro Zambrotta
---Camoranesi--Emerson-Vieira
-------Del Piero
--------- Trezeguet---Ibrahimovic

Cafu tend to be to offensive, and therefor should Zlatan get the space he requires to the right. Del Piero is given, I'd like to see him in a free role in this game. I don't dare to trust Chiellini vs Kaká, Vieri and Gilardino, so I go with zambrotta on the left and Blasi on the right and let Camo and Del Piero handle the crosses from that flank.

TBH that is what you are saying, if not directly then alluding to it.
I don't like posts such as these, Zlatan. Just because we have other ideas as to how we should line up against an opponent does not mean we think we are superior coaches to Capello...how do you come up with that? Nobody is claiming I'm better than Capello because if I was I would be coaching some club team, which I'm not. I see things my own way and interpret situations the way I see them...doesn't mean I think I'm superior to anyone and doesn't mean somebody is right or wrong. What the hell is the point of these threads if we can't discuss topics such as this? Capello is not always right...nobody is perfect.

Third, I'd rather have Zlatan go up against the likes of Stam or Gatusso because Alex doesnt have the strengt to do it, and because Nesta is out of the game it could be won in the air or by strenght. And I believe we all agree that isnt Del Piero's strong point.
Yes of course, just like we were saying in May. But did that argument really hinder our performance at the San Siro? No, not really. Infact Del Piero helped us win the match with his skill...no reason why it can't be done again.

i think Capello should start this match with a defensive formation cause we have to play as if a draw will be good for us and if we won would be much better . For me , a draw isn't bad for us seeing that we'll still have 5 pts lead over them and they'll still play Inter later . . .

My Prediction :
Milan 1-1 Juventus

i think the way , u voice many of ur opiions.. ur always emphasizing on the negatives of the coach and always in****ing him.
Well if u dont like the approach of the coach, which is very successful by the way, then i dont know wat can u do.I guess u will have to wait for him to fail.
But u should always consider the team's benefits.Wat better for the team.
