Anyways, this is what I would play (and I'm not, unlike some people, claiming I know better than Capello)

-------------------Abbiati-------------------

Thuram Cannavaro Kovac; Zambrotta

Camoranesi Vieira Emerson Mutu

----------Zlatan Trezeguet--------------
Good formation , i thought abt the samething.Thuram on the right.Cuz chiellini looks like a liability at the moment. So its either putting blasi on the right again...which doesnt sound as bad.or putting balza, but i think its too much to as from him in such a big game.

Mutu should've defently taken neddy's place, but i guess cap llikes the expereice of neddy at this moment. Also i have to say he always steps up in the big games.

Alex didnt convince me in the last two games.Didnt have that much of an impact.Zlatan will start for sure, i hope the break did more good for him than bad

Yeah i hate it when ppl think they know more than any proffessional coach.

im excited. i definatly dont wanna play juve right now. but it has to be done. im not confident that milan will win this one, and it sadens me, but at this point in time, juve are just too tough to crack.

milan are a big game team, and always rise to the occassion. with the midfield & attack playing brilliantly lately, i guess its not entirely out of reach. stopping camoranesi and trez will be the key.
So good to hear this from a Milan fan

I Would play with 3-4-1-2 will make us stronger in midfield and so that we control the game:
Abbiati/Chimenti

Thuram-Cannavaro-Kovac

Camoranesi-Emerson-Vieira-Zambrotta

Mutu

Trezeguet-Zlatan

But Capello will never use it,then 4-4-2:

Chimenti/Abbiati
Zambrotta-Thuram-Cannavaro-Chiellini
Camoranesi-Emerson-Vieira-Mutu
Trezeguet-Zlatan

Why do people put Mutu in attack in their formations, it simply wont happen, he's primarily a midfielder now. And to have all 3 of Zambrotta , Camoranesi and Mutu on the same, right, side and have Chiellini hold the left by himself is pure madness. If Mutu plays it will be either on the right or left flank, not in attack.

Frankly Stuart, in this case I'd say that Capello knows better than you.

Chiellini is a liability for this game IMO and doesnt deserve to play. If it were up to me, I'd play thuram on the right and Zambrotta on the left, with Canna and Kovač inbetween.
Mutu's position in my lineup isn't set in stone you know. I would give both Del Piero and Mutu free roles behind Trezeguet and instruct at least one of them to support Chiellini on the left side at all times. Mutu's best position is in attack (my opinion anyways) so I'd allow him to take turns playing towards the left with DP. Chiellini would NOT have to hold the left by himself. Perhaps Zambrotta would be somewhat wasted in my formation but isn't he already being wasted by Capello? He doesn't get forward near as much as he did when Lippi was here so I don't think I'm wasting him.

Also, you say that people shouldn't put Mutu upfront in their formations because it simply won't happen with Cap at the helm, but I clearly stated that that is what I would play. I would set up like this:

----------------------Chimenti
Zambrotta - Kovac - Cannavaro - Chiellini
-----------------Emerson---Vieira
--Camoranesi
---------------------------------------Mutu
------------------------------Del Piero
-----------------Trezeguet

Mutu and DP would interchange positions doing what they can to create chances and make us dangerous on the counter-attack with Trezeguet there to finish off what comes his way. I said earlier this season that I think we should try Thuram at RB and Zambrotta at LB but I'm not sure if now is the right time to be experimenting, however, you are correct in saying that Chiellini could potentially hurt us if he starts.

I was also thinking about something like this if Vieira isn't fit, but it ain't gonna happen:

-----------------Chimenti
----Thuram---Kovac---Cannavaro
--Zambrotta--Camo---Emo---Chiellini
--------------------Mutu
-----------------Trez----Ibra

Goalie
Chiementi

Having watched both Abbiati & Chimenti I would definitely start Chimenti. The coming of Abbiati might just be the tonic that he needed. He was impressive in both games & was very vocal last night. Made the defence wake up.
Defence
Thuram - Kovac - Canna - Zambrotta

Chiellini is another pretender who needs to be benched in this game. Cap has tried to fit him in but this has only resulted in Zambrotta being wasted. Get Zambro back on the left so that he can contribute to the attack. Kovac was amazing last night! Thuram has been doing a lot of covering for the right back this season so I think he will be comfortable there. Canna is a rock as always, you gotta love his last ditch give it all tackles that are always brilliant.
Midfield
Camo - Emerson - Viera - Mutu

Having watched almost all our matches this season I think we need Viera back in the midfield ASAP because since he got injured we have had to grind out results. Gianiccheda & Emerson combo is not working at all. Camo should start & through Mutu on the left instead of Neddy & give him the license to roam into the middle. Both his goals have come as a result of him drifting towards the middle.
Forward
Zlatan - Trez

Most people will crucify me for not including DP. He has been good thus far but this will be a physical game so it might be wise to start him from the bench. The other thing is that he seems to get tired after the first 45 minutes so why not bring him in when Milan's defence is already tired? Trez has been sharp & when you need goals he is always there. Service for the midfield has not been good lately & that is why we need the killer instincts of Trez. Zlatan will cause problems for Milan defenders there is no question about it. Am seeing a card for Stam, let it be red.

Vieri ends Milan goal drought Thursday 27 October, 2005

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Christian Vieri insists he’s still got what it takes to be a top striker after finally netting his first goal for Milan.

The Italian scored in the 3-1 win at Empoli on Wednesday and was quick to silence talk that he is too old to make a difference any more.

"That’s not true," he told Sky Italia. "I always get three or four chances during a game. The important thing is that I am still creating opportunities.

"Sometimes I score and sometimes I don’t, but the crucial thing is that I am in the right place at the right time."

The Azzurri international, who joined the club in a controversial move from Inter in the summer, concedes that last night’s goal has eased the pressure on him.

"It feels like a weight has been lifted," said the 32-year-old, who dedicated his first Milan strike to his mother.

"I’ve worked hard in these times, but it is only normal to feel the tension after you go two or three months without a goal.

"I want to thank the Coach and my teammates who stayed close to me during this period. I’m as happy for them as I am myself."

Vieri hadn’t scored in Serie A since May 15, 2005, in Inter's 1-0 win over Livorno. He could now get another chance against Juventus given Andriy Shevchenko’s ankle problem.
"I’m ready to play even if it up to the Coach to select me," he added. "Milan have some of the strongest forwards in circulation and we are all at the club’s disposal."

Vieri’s latest strike was his 132nd in 219 games.

Not really pleasant news as Vieri could also cause problems for us, even without the presence of Shevchenko

still i think i would prefer abbiatti, he has a lot to prove to milan.

kovac has to start he is in great form.

that backline of

thuram canna kovac zambo

is brilliant hope capello goes for it cheillini is a bit rusty now but even at
the viola last season he was suspect defensively, esp against milan where they targeted him and he was at fault for 2 goals.

i really hope vieira is back it will add an extra demension to our game where juve could end up dominating midfield.

trez and zlatan will play up front and neddy will play, will fabio chosse camo or mutu. id imagine camo

still DP and mutu are great subs who can change the match in juves favour.

my team

abbiatti

thuram canna kovac zambro

camo emerson vieira/neddy neddy/mutu

trez DP

if veira does not recover i would like to see neddy play the centre.

This is what I would play:

Chimenti
Zambrotta - Kovac - Cannavaro - Chiellini
Camoranesi - Emerson - Vieira
Mutu - Trezeguet - Del Piero
Thats nice...The only thing I would change is Zambrotta putting him back to the Left and Pessotto playing on the right....

Alessandro Nesta could be fit for Saturday's Serie A match with Juventus at Giuseppe Meazza.

The Italian international is currently sidelined after having surgery on a thumb injury he suffered during Italy's recent game with Slovenia.

Nesta went to see a specialist on Tuesday who was positive about his chances of making a return for the top-of-the-table clash with the Bianconeri.

Carlo Ancelotti will wait on making a decision until the eve of the match as he does not want to risk Nesta if he is not ready.

Nesta is set to wear a special bandage on his hand if he is given the all-clear, and Milan will be keen for him to play as they bid to end Juve's 100 percent record and close the gap at the top.

looks like nesta will be back then still no news on sheva or vieira

Player of the Week: Emerson (Juventus)
You could be forgiven for ignoring the importance of Emerson to the present Juventus jigsaw. After all, he has become something of a forgotten man by a few followers given the inspirational form of midfield colleague Patrick Vieira. But the Brazilian underlined exactly how vital he is to Fabio Capello in the 2-0 win over Sampdoria on Wednesday.

Unable to again field Vieira because of injury, Emerson eventually took control of the midfield proceedings against a spirited Sampdoria side - who were looking for a repeat of last season’s win at the Stadio Delle Alpi. And without the spotlight on the Frenchman, the South American reminded everyone why is one of the world’s best.

Emerson, who was allowed to play in a slightly more advanced role by Capello in the absence of the former Arsenal man, gave his side the balance they needed to complete a record breaking ninth consecutive League win since the start of the campaign. He broke up play with his well timed tackles, but also exhibited his undisputed technical ability in a midfield that did get crowded at times.

There is no question that the capture of Emerson from Roma just over a year ago was one of the club’s most astute pieces of business in recent history. He may not always get the headlines that he deserves, but the former Bayer Leverkusen player has a massive impact of the way this Juventus machine notches up results.

He’s a major factor behind why the Old Lady of Italian football have conceded just two goals in nine League matches – despite being forced to use the uncertain Christian Abbiati and Antonio Chimenti in goal so far this term. The 29-year-old provides the perfect filter for a Juventus rearguard, a back-line which has also been without French internationals Jonathan Zebina and Lilian Thuram at times.

It’s little wonder that Capello rates his partnership with Vieira as the top central midfield pairing in world football. And Juve will need Emo at his best on Saturday for the trip to Milan in a game that could effectively already decide the Scudetto by Week 10. To make matters worse for the Rossoneri, guess who is expected to be back alongside him? That’s right, big Pat!

Yeah, Del Piero's game not "physical", he can't get aerian balls...etc. That's what folks were saying before last year's game...REMEMBER?
