What I believe is that if you're not world class at 23, you never will be. We all know where players like Del Piero and Ronaldinho were at that age or even Francesco Totti for that matter.
Sorry but that is not a feasable notion. Was Zinedine Zidane a world class player at 23? How about Deco, Cafu, Shevchenko, and Ricardo Carvalho? The latter only became world class at 26. Not to make fun of your opinion, but it's just sheer nonsense. A stance like that is not very fair at all Seven.
And yes, Zlatan has been our best striker so far. In fact he has been our only striker. Trezeguet was out injured for a long time and Capello and Del Piero just don't get along. I'm not calling for Zlatan's head and I never was, but I don't think we should build a team round him like some people on this forum believe.
Why do we have to build the team around one player, especially a forward? Great teams are not usually built around one genious player unless you are talking about a player like Zidane or another midfield general. But a forward? I hate this notion of "building a team around one player" because that is not the right mentality, as in my eyes all players should be treated as equal and used as pieces to the overall puzzle. I understand what you are saying by building the team around one player, however I do not think Zlatan is the right player to do so and I doubt the Juve management share your views Seven.
If we follow this logic of yours Nedved was the center of the team the past few years, and Zidane before him. I think if you are going to build the team around one player he must be a midfielder, and if this logic matters then Emerson will be our main player for the next few years.
I dislike Zlatan. So what? I don't like him because he constantly fouls defenders when he dribbles, runs in offside positions a lot and doesn't contribute much to the general play of our team.
The benefits outweigh the negatives against Zlatan. He might make some mistakes now, I stress "now," but that certainly does not mean he will continue making these mistakes. What we lose from Zlatan's mistakes we gain from him drawing defenders away with him, outmuscling opposing defenders, holding the ball up for the rest of the attack, and having a great touch and control while in traffic around the box that causes the opposition to become horrified. I assure you will fix his problems of holding on to the ball for too long and learning how to cope with the tactics of Serie A defences. It does not take much to fix the two because all he needs is experiance. The sky is the limit for Ibrahimovic.
