He's not that great these days, he's actually one of the most overrated players in the world to me.
He's getting better in Real, i Admit when he first joined Real Madrid he wasn't that good, but take a look at Man Utd and right now with Real, Beckham is a worldclass player, and lets put his beauty away, no one can deny he got the best touch in football right now, his Freekicks , His Crosses , His Passes, and Defending, these are his job, Just Like Trezeguet, his Job is to Finish and do some little things, Beckham's Job is to take a Freekick and giving great Crosses and Passes.....

It's really unfair to say Beckham is Overrated just because he's famous and good Looking, just like some other members think....(am not talking about you Stu)...

with the likes of chelsea and barcelona in the champion league, at the moment, we have better chance of winning the scudetto than the champion league, we simply lack of depth, to be realistic, we should focus on scudetto rather than winning nothing in the end

Maybe you just do not like Zlatan because he threatens Del Piero's spot in the team, or the fact that he scored against your beloved Italy in Euro 2004.....I don't know really. Or maybe you just do not like him simply to counter people like me who want the best for Juventus....I don't know. What I do know is that Zlatan seems to have a bright future at Juventus, no matter what anybody has to say.
Oh please. I would even like to see Del Piero move to Palermo, so I don't think what you're saying is reasonable at all. As for his goal against Italy in Euro 2004 I find it frustrating that people are not willing to see that luck played a big part in it. As well as the fact that he actually fouled Buffon. It still was a nice goal though.

What I believe is that if you're not world class at 23, you never will be. We all know where players like Del Piero and Ronaldinho were at that age or even Francesco Totti for that matter.

And yes, Zlatan has been our best striker so far. In fact he has been our only striker. Trezeguet was out injured for a long time and Capello and Del Piero just don't get along. I'm not calling for Zlatan's head and I never was, but I don't think we should build a team round him like some people on this forum believe.

I dislike Zlatan. So what? I don't like him because he constantly fouls defenders when he dribbles, runs in offside positions a lot and doesn't contribute much to the general play of our team.

Coming from a "man" who made a mockery out of 9/11, I will take that to heart.
Oh please, get over it already. Yeah yeah, terrorism here, terrorism there, whatever. Anything that makes America richer will do.

I applaud you in your effort to keep the forum sensible and friendly Desmond.

However, Seven does not deserve any respect, especially mine.
Please, you've never respected anyone on this forum. No-one expected you to do so either. It's an internet forum for crying out loud. Your problem is that you can't even seem to even think about another opinion. You just dismiss it because it isn't your own. I do read your posts carefully, I DO NOT ignore parts I actually agree with and I can't dismiss. After reading your posts I think about them and then I realise I don't agree. You don't even think.

Not an easy one trust me milan were playing like crap in last few games especially against reggina
and cagliari have good players like langela, esposito, zola
milan may even rest some players for champions league

Sorry but that is not a feasable notion. Was Zinedine Zidane a world class player at 23? How about Deco, Cafu, Shevchenko, and Ricardo Carvalho? The latter only became world class at 26. Not to make fun of your opinion, but it's just sheer nonsense. A stance like that is not very fair at all Seven.

Why do we have to build the team around one player, especially a forward? Great teams are not usually built around one genious player unless you are talking about a player like Zidane or another midfield general. But a forward? I hate this notion of "building a team around one player" because that is not the right mentality, as in my eyes all players should be treated as equal and used as pieces to the overall puzzle. I understand what you are saying by building the team around one player, however I do not think Zlatan is the right player to do so and I doubt the Juve management share your views Seven.

If we follow this logic of yours Nedved was the center of the team the past few years, and Zidane before him. I think if you are going to build the team around one player he must be a midfielder, and if this logic matters then Emerson will be our main player for the next few years.

The benefits outweigh the negatives against Zlatan. He might make some mistakes now, I stress "now," but that certainly does not mean he will continue making these mistakes. What we lose from Zlatan's mistakes we gain from him drawing defenders away with him, outmuscling opposing defenders, holding the ball up for the rest of the attack, and having a great touch and control while in traffic around the box that causes the opposition to become horrified. I assure you will fix his problems of holding on to the ball for too long and learning how to cope with the tactics of Serie A defences. It does not take much to fix the two because all he needs is experiance. The sky is the limit for Ibrahimovic.

Not at all, I listen to other opinions and respect them most of the time. However when those opinions are complete nonsense and just ridiculous, I have to castigate them.

I hope you are not talking about me because I do not even care about his looks or that other nonsense. I think Beckham is extremely overrated because he is a one dimensional player who is only good at freekicks and having a fair passing range. His tackling is pathetic, his ball control is sketchy, his positioning is the same, and he lacks the quality of the Zidanes, Figos, Ronaldinhos, Decos, and Nedveds. Like one player so rightly stated a couple weeks ago, "There are 10,000 players in the world who are better than Beckham." Can't get much closer than that, a player who played against the England "Captain." Over the weekend against Osasuna he showed his true quality, giving the ball away at least 15 times and looking out of place next to players like Zidane and even Guti. That is not world class and quite frankly giving Beckham that title is a complete joke. Even some hard core English fans will say Beckham is a joke. Thats good enough right there.

a win for us coupled with milan slipping up a madrid getting a few injuries i hope real have an easy game this weekend and win comfortably so their big egos will be inflated then their bubble burst by juve as the crash to defeat. as we will have a though game hopefully we win and go to spain with our feet on the ground but confident. this promises to be an exiting week
