fuck this match: who is unavailable for Fiorentina?

Sissoko suspended?

injuries: buffon maybe still sick (prob not), trez, zebina, camo, chiellini (??)

we should see grygera back, buffon should be back, maybe chiellini, what about camo? when will trez play again? we desperately need these players back ASAP

we will continue to struggle until we can bring either Amauri/Trez off the bench, CR has the balls to Sub Neddy early or start Gio, Camo replaces the POS marchionni and Chiellini can come in and play. And we know what Buffon means to this team.

I liked what I saw from Ariaudo, he could be the potential partner of Chiellini but still too unproven to know for sure. What I do know is that this kid can pass, he is confident in his long balls, something our outside backs lack. I am sorry but Zanetti needs to find himself quickly, I know he has been out and regaining his confidence but he needs to get his head straight asap.

The second half was way bettr than the first... Good subs by Ranieri as well... just a point earned though...

...and the ref was **** too!

But at least we gained a point on :inter: :bigscarf:
I thought the ref was poor, but balanced.

We didn't get the penalty, but Nedved was lucky not to be sent off for the elbow in the first half.

"We must be careful, we mustn't do many mistakes in defense because they will punish us. We should be concentrated and patient and if a chance pops up to win the 3pts we should take it. 1pt is much better than 0 pts. At least we will gain some ground on Inter and the presure will be even bigger on them. The season is still young and we must not do any mistakes now. Patience and only patience."

It looked like Ranieri told them exactly these words.
Not an entirely unreasonable attitude for this game.

credit to lazio they played at a very high tempo for the first 30 minutes never let us settle. there midfield owned ours and there trident attack kept us pinned back.
    Therein lies the problem.

We had a man less than them in midfield and they still dominated long periods.

you can't win every game. Playing lazio away from home with a makeshift backline was never going to be easy. Manninger made a terrible mistake for lazio's goal. He made a good decision to come out and attack the ball, but he totally misjudged the flight of the ball. We had a couple of good chances in the second half that we should of capitalized on, but that's the way it goes. It's not like we were playing for the draw, because clearly we went out in the second half and were the better team.

We didn't play for the draw, but were clearly more concerned about not losing than winning, the game.

You were watching the same game right? Nedved was our best player in the offensive half...
Most of our good play through the whole game was through Nedved.

Just because he isn't the player he used to be doesn't mean he isn't still a good player.

    Manninger 5.5

    Mellberg 6.5
    Legro 6
    Ariaudo 6
Molinaro 6.5 :star: He save the 1point

    Sissoko 5
    Zanetti 4.5
    Marchionni 4.5
    Nedved 5.5

    Del Piero 5
    Amauri 5

    Marchisio 6

Too kind to Manninger and bit harsh on Nedved.

What? Marchionni sucked, probably the worst player on the pitch for us. Provides nothing. Note that: N-O-T-H-I-N-G.
D-I-S-A-G-R-E-E. Wasn't it Marchionni's corner Mellberg scored from? He's not as good as Camo but good enough to play.
I thought going forward Molinaro was the worst but he was ok in defense, especially the last tackle on Foggia at the dying moments. Still I would have liked De Cegli come on for him in the last fifteen minutes

IMO, Marchionni is as useless as Molinaro.

Teams that win the scudetto find a way to win when they don't play well. We did not do that today.
True, but i don't see it as a big problem because we did find the way to win when we didn't play well in some previous matches (Lecce, Siena, Atalanta, Torino, Chievo and Cagliari).

he couldve taken off nedved. and if alex is playing badly he should come off. its that simple.
i agree that nedved should have come off for gio, but we will probably never see that.
i like to see giovinco more on the left, because he is closer to the midfield and can receive the balls with less pressure ... playing him in the del piero position does isolate him in games like today. if he lets himself fall back to the midfield, than amauri is always overcrowded by defenders and difficult to pass to.

if you noticed del piero was in the midfield area a lot, this is because of the ball not be able to reach our attack a problem we have had before.
i dare to say that del piero is not fast enough to play in the midfield, when is is crowded like today ... lazio were compact and when del piero would go past one opponent the other opponents would easily catch up with del piero, because he really is to slow for that ... even to slow to play on a trident, but i know the fanboys will deny that...

hasnt that always been obvious for like the last 7 years?? :shifty:
Just that I haven't noticed it like this year. Delio Rossi was about to loose his lungs and was this close to cry when the ref gave us a foul in the 1st half and it was 35m long.

one good cross means he deserves a higher score? no way, look how many of his crosses end up cleared by the defense or go out of bounds because there is no one near the end of it. marchionni had a bad game, no other way to look at it. i have to agree with andy, a corner does not mean he deserves more. Any one can take a corner, its a deadball and it isnt moving.

Yes, Mellberg might have hoofed a few up towards the lonely forwards that didn't go to the right adress but that was mostly because the midfielders failed to link up play. I think he had a very solid performance defensively and deserve a 6.5 together with Legro, add the goal and he is the main man for us tonight.
