I think this time we'll get the line-up we want, or at least something close to it.
In the past months, with our defense being pretty shaky, Ranieri's logic was to use 2 DMC's and since these 2 DMC's aren't creative at all and we could have done shit from the center, he used two wingers to stretch the game. Thus the straight 4-4-2 which was a good choice most of the time.
But this time we'll be without 2 of our best 3 defenders, the third one was sick in last few days and one of the DMC's is suspended. On top of it, Salihamidzic will probably play in defense and he's attacking much more than he's a defensive minded player.
No mather what Ranieri puts at the back, we'll probably conceed a goal or two.
As many suggested, the only way to do it is to attack all the time and to score a goal more than the opponent.
Ranieri should see this, and he probably will, and that's why i expect him to start with 4-3-3 (Iaquinta-Trez-DP in attack) or to play the way we started against Empoli (4-2-3-1), with Zanetti-Tiago at the center and a trident Marchionni-Nedved-Del Piero, or Marchionni-Nedved-Iaquinta playing behind Trezeguet.
I think this is how we'll do it, or at least i hope this is how we'll do it. It seems crazy to start with straight 4-4-2. It will be Atalanta and Catania all over again if we play 4-4-2, just that this time we'll be against an in form team with attackers that score for fun lately.
