Of more pressing concern for Ancelotti will be tomorrow’s big game against Juventus in Turin.

Juve are in a great moment, but we need the points,” Carletto stated..

Juve play with a specific identity, very aggressive, organized and solid, and they
have the experience of their great champions. It will surely be a great clash.

“[Coach] Claudio Ranieri has done a very good job. He managed to assemble very quickly a team which arrived from Serie B.
“Del Piero? He’s a great player who has rediscovered his brilliance and lucidity, and right now he deserves to play in the European Championship.

Our team is improving, and against Cagliari we found our game plan and I think that we will improve further.”

Pato & Injuries

Milan have a number of players missing going into the game, including the injured Massimo Oddo, and suspended Kakha Kaladze and Alessandro Nesta.

Alexandre Pato has also been rated as a doubt due to an abductor muscle injury in his thigh.

Pato? He trained until Thursday, then he was interrupted due to his adductor problems,” Ancelotti explained.

Today he will try to change direction when he runs, but nevertheless Inzaghi will play in attack, and if possible so will Gilardino.

“All of the other players have recovered except for Jankulovksi. Simic, who is in good form, will play instead of Nesta

Inzaghi-Gila in attack is better for us then just Inzaghi.

This is how I would approach the game

Buffon
Zebina Legrottaglie Chiellini Molinaro
Camoranesi Sissoko Tiago
Iaquinta Trezeguet Del Piero

And attack from the very first second.

    Pato is definitely out
He's not even among the called players

Ambrosini, Brocchi, Gattuso, Gourcuff, Kakà, Pirlo, Seedorf,

Their only danger. But a hell of a danger.

Zebina is out, but other then that it looks good :p. But no way Ranieri is gonna play Tiago. Palla or most likely Sali will take Nedved's place. Although we could see a 4-3-3, but Nocerino would probably start in that formation.

I thought that Zebina has been training regularly. In that case replace him with Grygera and keep the others.

I read interesting info about these two as attack partners. In all the matches where they played in attack at the same time, they scored 1 goal combined. And i'm talking about some 14-15 matches.
    These two can't play together.

Yeah Jack, i agree completely. That's why it'll be great if we take the lead and Ancelotti is forced to add Gilardino in the second half, to replace Seedorf and to play together with Pippo in Milan's attack. :eyebrows:

    He was.
But now i see that he's not among the called players due to some muscular problem.

Jesus, if we don't put at least two behind these guys, we really don't deserve CL.
It's not that easy as you think V.

Bonera is very underrated, he's a good player. Simic, I haven't seen him but I followed him before his Milan matches, he's decent nor more.

Yeah but neither of them has seen regular playing time for ages and both are pretty average if you ask me. Maldini is just too old and if he plays in CB, he'll be a liability there. Favalli? I don't know what's he doing in a club like Milan.

And of course Zeljko Kalac...seriously, if we don't score against this pathetic excuse for a defense, I'll be seriously disapointed.

It will still be a tough game, Milan have the players in other positions to beat any team. I don't expect us to cruise through the game, but their back-line for this game is piss poor and we must exploit that.

How Sissoko will cope against Kaka will be really interesting. I believe Camo should play alongside Sissoko in central midfield, playing Nocerino against Milan shouldnt be an option when you take his recent form in consideration.

    Pato out of Juve clash
    Friday 11 April, 2008

It is now official – Alexandre Pato is not even fit for the bench as Milan take on Juventus on Saturday evening.

The Brazilian youngster missed last week’s 3-1 win over Cagliari with what at the time was described as a muscular twinge.

It had only required rest as a precautionary measure, but it proved to be far worse than previously thought.

“He has not trained at all since last Thursday,” revealed Coach Carlo Ancelotti in today’s Press Conference.

Pato is not even in the squad for the trip to Turin, staying behind along with Marek Jankulovski, Massimo Oddo and former Juventus midfielder Emerson.

Alessandro Nesta and Kakha Kaladze sit out a ban, so Dario Simic is the favourite to take central defensive duties alongside Paolo Maldini.

Pippo Inzaghi is expected to partner Kaka upfront in a 4-4-2 system, though Alberto Gilardino and teenager Alberto Paloschi are ready to come off the bench.

Milan squad: Dida, Fiori, Kalac, Bonera, Cafu, Digao, Favalli, Maldini, Serginho, Simic, Ambrosini, Brocchi, Gattuso, Gourcuff, Kakà, Pirlo, Seedorf, Gilardino, Inzaghi, Paloschi

It's not going to be about beating their defensive line at all , this gae will played out in midfield . We need to deny Kaka space to move as he pleases and we should commit the sin of forgetting about Seedorf who can turn the game around for seconds . For this game , I wouldn't be surprised at all if we see Nocerino start , and as much as I love attacking formations , allowing the slightest of spaces to Kaka or Seedorf will cost us the game . If Camo is employed as a CM he needs to be at his best defensively with Momo .

Pirlo has been out of form for a while and and we need to force him to play long balls to Inzaghi who would be physically dominated by Chiellini . IF there was ever a time to beat Milan , it is now . They have been inconsistent and most of their players have been out of form . Winning the midfield battle is the key to winning this game , we simply can't allow Milan to dominate possession and see too much of the ball .
