This is a final for Milan. It's the most important match of this season's serie A for them.
This is why i'm saying this :

Fiorentina have 4 pts advantage over Milan. In the next round Fiorentina play away to Inter while Milan play Juve.
In case Milan lose this match then the difference will stay 4 pts (at least) and 5 rounds till the end Milan will have to hope that Fiorentina will lose pts in at least 2 of the remaining 5 matches while Milan will have to win all their matches, including their match vs Inter.

Since Fiorentina have these 5 matches till the end :
H- Palermo (don't need any points)
H- Sampdoria (tough match, but Fiorentina have the home advantage)
A- Cagliari (need the pts to escape relegation)
H- Parma (still not known if they will need the pts 2 rounds till the end)
A- Torino (most probably won't need any points)

It's very possible that Fiorentina will win 4 of these 5 matches.

As you can see, this match will be do or die for Milan.
They will come here motivated like it's a CL final because only a win does the job for them. Maybe even a draw won't be enough for Milan.

So now it's up to Ranieri to motivate our guys also. He must tell them how motivated Milan will be, how much Milan needs the points and how much things will become complicated for Juve if we lose this match.
We also have to set the tactics right, knowing how vulnerable Milan will be at the back, with all 4 of their starting defense being injured or suspended, and how dependent they are of Kaka.

    FORZA JUVEEEEEEEEE

I really hope Nedved will recover, his presence in such a match adds alot just like Del Piero and Buffon.

I expect a great game with Del Piero solving it.

    Can't wait for this one.
I can .. much to do this week :D

we need to win this game and in theory we must do it since milan is missing a lot of players and we need to keep them away from 4th place , kaka is the only danger i see if legro can handle him , we can win this game if not a draw is not too bad.
Let the ninja eat him alive .. while Chiello eats Pippo ..

    thanks for the analysis ..

As far as Juve is concerned .. assuming Fiorentina win all their matches ..

-If we lose to Milan we'll need to win all our other games to stay in 3rd .. (18pts)

-If we Draw .. we will have to win all matches with the cushion of one draw .. (16pts)

-If we win .. we will have to win all matches .. but we have a cushion of a loss or two draws .. (14pts)

In short .. no matter what we need 17 pts to secure 3rd position ..

Game with is Parma included in calculation ..

That's true Omair, but luckily there is no difference between 3rd and 4th and if we make calculations we should do it by comparing our results with Milan's.

If Milan win all their matches then what we'll need to secure a CL spot will be : 5 wins and 1 draw.
But if Milan won't beat us then everything will be more relaxed and 3 wins-3 draws will 99.9% be enough.

    Galliani: A Decisive Weekend

Milan Vice President Adriano Galliani says that this weekend will be decisive in the race for the Scudetto and the battle for the fourth Champions League place.

Three mouth-watering games will take place, as first Milan travel to Juventus on Saturday evening.

This will then be followed by Roma’s trip to Udinese on Sunday afternoon, before Inter host Fiorentina at San Siro.

With six of the top seven all in action against each other, Galliani believes that this weekend will be critical.

"I believe that the results of Juve-Milan, and Inter-Fiorentina will be decisive in deciding the Scudetto and the Champions League places,” said Galliani.

Inter currently lead Roma by four points at the top of the table, while fourth placed Fiorentina, are four and five points ahead of Milan and Udinese respectively.

Galliani also said that a decision over whether Alessandro Nesta will play against Juve will be made on Friday at noon. The defender is struggling with injury.

"Will Nesta play? It will be discussed on Friday at noon, we hope to have him against Juventus."

    I thought Nesta was suspended?

    He is.
At least for now. But maybe Galliani knows more than all of us and he knows they'll win the appeal.

We must win this game a draw would be a terrible thing to suffer with Fiorentina right behind us.

I hope that Pavel is available for this match...and I'm expecting Il Captaino to be on fire this weekend and blaze the opposition no doubt.

:agree: we would have been in a better position if we'd already played parma so we could have potentially had more points on the board

Serginho will be back for Milan so now they have their LB problem solved.
He was always great against us, apart from this season's match where he was awful.
What i noticed is that he's not even a shadow of his old self anymore. He didn't play much this season and whenever he played he was bad and surprisingly slow.
He's 37 years old and in last 2 seasons he played only 11 matches in serie A (only 6 as a starter).
