omg that was a great confidence booster. thank god for fsc. i taped the game and i think will show it to my children as the day inter shitted their pants. we still need time to gel and despite his brace i still think iaquinta sucks at football yet i hope he will change my mind.im still confused why DP was taken off in the 50th minute? hope he isnt injured.
Its the tinkerman doing his job.

DP was subbed in the 60th and it was tactical.

I disagree about Del Piero's performance, but I don't find Iaquinta-Trezeguet a logical combination. Today it worked, but in the future Palladino should come on for Del Piero. Or perhaps even start Palladino over Del Piero, who's very good at coming off the bench.
It worked today because the midfield was doing a great job moving the ball forward and helping build attacks. At times where the midfield is shut down, you need a player like Del Piero or Palladino more on top. I think Ranieri saw that the midfield with Nedved on top were doing a great job bringing the ball to the box, this is why he left two foxes in front of the goal.

despite winning 5-1 we still have work to do because our performance wasnt 5-1 win material. yet with our squad im confident juve will work hard and we should be in the CL next season.

well besides the penalty which was not really a penalty we created 3 goals and the second was a deflection but thats part of calcio
The penalty, as you said, wasn't a penalty, Iaquinta's second goal was pure luck as Nedved's shot was going wide and after that Livorno basically gave up. Trezeguet took his second goal superbly and Nedved and Nocerino combined well for the 5th but tbh we weren't really that great. We showed no intention of really wanting to score when 1-0 up.

i thought criscito and andrade were very good and Sali is a good RB the defence controlled the whole game besides the last 2 mins
Sali isn`t bad but he is more offensively solid than defensively (he is ok overall)
as for Andrade and Criscito they are both ok but every game you see one of them fall asleep and an opponent gets a free header or a free chance and it`s not like he barely got the ball!
For example in this match Rossina was completely unmarked a few meters alone in the area!
well he might missed it but others won`t
it happened in all of our pre seasons games as well!
another example is Mexes`s free header in the five yards box while our defenders were somewhere near the end of the area

we defenitely missing a world class defender who is also a leader!
Cannavaro could be the one.....

I disagree, we wanted to score more but we were clueless on how to do it. It was the referees gift to award Iaquinta a penalty when we really went out there. We started going more forward after we stepped two goals up.

Chiellini was great today, I hope he becomes a regular so he'll be happy about his situation at Juve because he's got future captain material written all over him.

I'm happy with the effort overall. You could tell we weren't pushing the pace all that much (even in the first half) but still got many quality chances. Five goals is a bit flattering though.

The central defense had some very worrying moments. They were effective for the most part, but there were times where it seemed like they just weren't on the same page and that caused a lot of problems. I hope once they get the communication down between them (and with Buffon) the defence will be in much better shape.

Overall, I liked what I saw though. If we can tighten it up defensively the CL is easily within our grasp.

PS: LOL at Iaquinta. I don't care how he gets them, as long as he's contributing. Great link-up with Trez on the fourth goal though!

Decent game, but let's not get carried away. There are a lot areas that need improvement in my opinion. Our defence was again not overly confident.
Andrade seems like he lacks fitness & I knew we would pay with the way the defence kept running back when Livorno were on the attack.
In midfield we had a great game. Nocerino, Nedved, Almiron and Zanetti were all okay. The way Nedved keeps on playing is incredible. He was our MOM for me and did pretty much everything right. I was disappointed with Nocerino's stupid yellow card. Tiago wasn't looking shabby either.
Almiron got tired after 45 minutes & that's when Livorno started bossing us around. Neddy MOM.

Not so very much impressed with the attack. Trezeguet did well, Del Piero was rather poor and Iaquinta looked like he got lucky. However, you can't argue with two goals and an assist. It'll give him confidence as well.

The future is bright, people.
Iaquinta was extremely lucky with both goals. Loved his 1-2 with Trez for goal number 4. Am not reading too much into it as Livorno simply stopped playing after the Iaquinta's penalty.

It's fantastic to get such a flying start and this will definitely build our confience.
