Moratti Hoping For A Beautiful Game
Inter President Massimo Moratti hopes that the Derby d’Italia will be a fine spectacle, and admits that he wouldn’t swap star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic for anyone.
Juventus and Inter meet on Sunday at the Stadio Olimpico in possibly the biggest match of the season so far.
Moratti earlier fanned the fames ahead of the game by saying that Inter and not Juventus had suffered from injustices in the past 10 years. However the oil baron now has less controversial words to share.
“When I say this I sincerely mean it but I hope for a beautiful game, without nastiness or controversy,” Moratti told La Stampa.
“I hope there will be a great demonstration of professionalism from the players, and enthusiasm from the crowd.”
Juventus were relegated to Serie B after the Calciopoli crisis in 2006 but have impressed on their return to the top-flight and sit in third place in the table.
“I have been positively surprised by the character shown by the Bianconeri,” admitted Moratti.
“I have seen a great attitude in the players and I admire a group who defend the pride of their shirt.”
Finally Moratti lavished praise on Inter striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, a player the Nerazzurri controversially signed after Calciopoli.
“I understand how they (Juventus supporters) feel,” he added.
“We are talking about a great player and a great person. He is one of the best players in the world and I would not swap him with anyone.”
