Moratti Hoping For A Beautiful Game

Inter President Massimo Moratti hopes that the Derby d’Italia will be a fine spectacle, and admits that he wouldn’t swap star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic for anyone.

Juventus and Inter meet on Sunday at the Stadio Olimpico in possibly the biggest match of the season so far.

Moratti earlier fanned the fames ahead of the game by saying that Inter and not Juventus had suffered from injustices in the past 10 years. However the oil baron now has less controversial words to share.

“When I say this I sincerely mean it but I hope for a beautiful game, without nastiness or controversy,” Moratti told La Stampa.

“I hope there will be a great demonstration of professionalism from the players, and enthusiasm from the crowd.”

Juventus were relegated to Serie B after the Calciopoli crisis in 2006 but have impressed on their return to the top-flight and sit in third place in the table.

“I have been positively surprised by the character shown by the Bianconeri,” admitted Moratti.

“I have seen a great attitude in the players and I admire a group who defend the pride of their shirt.”

Finally Moratti lavished praise on Inter striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, a player the Nerazzurri controversially signed after Calciopoli.

“I understand how they (Juventus supporters) feel,” he added.

“We are talking about a great player and a great person. He is one of the best players in the world and I would not swap him with anyone.”

Zlatan is Zlatan he was never going to play a year of Serie B unless your Del Piero your not that loyal and seeing he wasnt getting full time playing offcorse he was going to go . and he defended juve and himself saying while at inter him and his team mates worked for that scudetto just moggi recked it

We have a good chance of winning unless nedved dives in the last minitue
Good Luck
I would love to see Inter take a year in Serie B, just to see their whole team leave, apart from Javier Zanetti who cant find his way out of Milan for some reason. Im sure if you could buy sat-nav in the high st 7 years ago he'd have legged it too. Inter have no players who know the meaning of loyalty, yet we kept 4 WC winners in the cadetti.

Inter, a good chance of winning? Is Guido Rossi the ref?

Del Piero's Inter anticipation

Alessandro Del Piero knows Juventus have been waiting for their Inter showdown for a long time. “This is a very special game.”

Sunday night will see the two titans go head-to-head in Serie A for the first time since the Calciopoli scandal saw the Bianconeri demoted to Serie B in the summer of 2006.

“This is a game that in the past has always represented something special. This year it is even more so for different reasons, but we remain in any case tied to the traditions that these two great clubs have.”

Not only is it a bitter grudge match like few others in Italian football, but the clash is also a Scudetto battle.

“It represents a great deal and is also an important test for our present. Clearly in the last few years, not just the last couple, there has been a very strong rivalry with Inter in all respects,” continued the Juve captain.

“I think the pressure and the aura around this tie can be represented by that too. It will be a fiery encounter on Sunday, but I believe it will be with the right type of sporting aggression and determination.”

Fireworks are expected, especially as so many players are facing their former clubs. Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Patrick Vieira take on Juve after quitting last year, while Cristiano Zanetti is an ex-Inter midfielder.

Due to the Calciopoli scandal and their positions in the table currently, Juventus perhaps for the first time begin the Derby d’Italia as the underdogs.

“Our pride is there for all to see,” assured Del Piero. “In part it is true, considering what happened in the recent past, but these games have a special atmosphere and are practically derbies for us and the fans. Therefore anything can happen.”

Cruz: We Must Win

The Argentinean striker is looking forward to tomorrow evening's Derby of Italy against Juventus, where he hopes he will play and leave his mark yet again.

Julio Cruz spoke to Sky ahead of the match at the Olimpico stadium of Turin tomorrow evening where the biggest rivals of Serie A will finally clash horns following the Calciopoli scandal.

"November brings me luck and playing in Turin brought me luck too," commented the striker about his habit of scoring against Juventus. "The good thing is the return of Juventus to Serie A and playing the game in Turin. Let's hope it's the right one, like all the rest."

Cruz admitted that it will not be an easy game, even though Inter start as favourites.

"I think that it will be quite tough, because I think that they will put in all of their pride which they have, and they will try to win, like everyone does against Inter," explained the veteran attacker.

"We must try to win, always, because you win the Scudetto by winning the games against those who follow you, in this case Juventus and Roma."

Agreed on the first part.

As for the last sentence,Yes they have a great chance of winning or at least gettin a draw.
I am really scared that this unrealistic optimism that everybody here has including myself could screw our whole season if we lost.

I cant imagine what will happen to me if we lost,I cant even think of it.
We need to put our feet on the ground & play them with respect, not fear, only respect.

You're right they do have a chance of a result. However, we've been waiting for this day since we saw Inter celebrate their scudetto "victory" 2 years ago. Juventini expect nothing less than 3 points as vindication for our suffering & revenge for their blatant theft.

On the forza inter forum which was linked, they have a crest with the number 15 on it, in the top left hand corner of the page. I think we should do this on here, with the number 29 though. Like this:

Good idea?

I also would play this formation against the Inter:

---------------Buffon
Grygera--Legro--Chiellini--Brazzo
----------Zanetti--Tiago------------
Camo-----------------------Nedved
------------------Del Piero----------
------Trezeguet---------------------

this is pilling pressure on us to get the result rather than being the opposite. Inter should be under pressure to get the 3 points not us. even a draw would be a good result for us

This is gonna become a major issue when we next win lo scudetto, sorry its a little off topic in the game thread, but it is very Inter-related! Our next scudetto will be no 28 or 30 depending on your point of view. If the club make shirts with 28 on the fans will go nuts. If they say 30, we'll be happy but Inter & the lega calio/FIGC will throw a fit. 30 also means a 3rd star on the shirt, which I presume is a part of the leagues rules now, so they would never allow the 3rd star till we win 3 more. But surely fans will demand it?

Juve ultras should make a big banner like that picture and put in in one of the curva.

No matter what you say about him majority here will hate him.
But if we look at the things with cool-head we'll see that these are wise words and arguing what you've said is silly and it will be just for the sake of arguing.
If anyone else said what Zlatan has said about the two scudetti won on the pitch, people would have praised him. If anyone else said that his Juve of 2005/06 was better and much more professional than his Inter of 2006/07 he would have become majority's hero.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is saying this while playing for Inter. You must have guts to do that.
People actually hate him only (ONLY) because their idol was warming the bench while Zlatan was playing. They don't hate him because his form was poor in his second year with us.

If someone wants to label me as Zlatan fan, not a Juve fan, then all i can say to him/her is one big FUCK YOU, and yes, i am his fan. I still love all ex-Juve players, except for Inzaghi, and i'm a big fan of Zlatan as a football player, as much as i am a fan of Messi as a footballer, Totti as a footballer or Kaka as a footballer.
Oh, and i'd welcome him back in Juve at any time. I love Juve so much that i want only the best for them, and Zlatan is certainly one of the best, if not THE best option for our attack, as Del Piero's successor.
I'll cheer against him, swear at him and spit on him while i watch him play against us but i'd welcome him at Juve with both hands and i'll always enjoy watching his unique way of playing football.
I've always hated Zlatan for his playing style and lack of class on and off the pitch. His continuous elbowing of defenders particularly bugged me. It got even worse when he was in poor shape his second season with us. Yes, I thought Del Piero should have played more back then, but that's not why I hate Zlatan. I just don't like the guy.

Tiago didnt even make the bench ???
No, and I find that unnecessarily harsh. He had an okay game against Empoli and should have been included IMO.

A thing to think about .. But I think that we'll have to wait till our 3rd Scudetto because our management doesn't want controversy anymore .. But personally, I will do like I did last season .. I put a scudetto badge on my Juve shirt and whoever talked about it just screw him .. On our next scudetto a third golden star will be stitched on my Juve shirt ..
