The old guard's heart

Ranieri relied on the old guard and the old guard repaid him. League leaders Inter Milan couldn't win at the Olimpico and had to settle for a 1-1 draw. After Inter went one up with Cruz at the end of the first half, Buffon kept the Bianconeri in the game with his saves and then Camoranesi equalized after 78 minutes, thanks to a Iaquinta pass. It's the first home draw of the season for Juventus, but this point allows them to stay in the running, still four points behind the Nerazzurri. After a year and a half plus 15 minutes' wait (the Nerazzurri arrived late at the Olimpico and obtained a short postponement), at last it was time for Juventus vs. Inter Milan.

The big match, so full of meaning in itself, also had an important role in terms of the League standings. A great feat was asked of Ranieri's men, to stop the League leaders and shorten the gaps in the table, with things having become even more exciting after Fiorentina's victory and Roma stopped by Empoli thanks to a great Giovinco goal. Juventus' Manager relied in great part on the whole guard. Nedved was back, Del Piero and Trezeguet played up front, and duos confirmed in defence (Legrottaglie-Chiellini) and in midfield (former Inter Milan player Cristiano Zanetti and Nocerino); Camoranesi started from the bench, Palladino on from the start. For Inter Milan, Ibrahimovic played next to Cruz. The beginning was explosive. Inter Milan earned a corner and a dangerous free kick but Buffon only had to punch the ball away. Juventus had a much more dangerous chance thanks to former Inter player Cristiano Zanetti, who received the ball inside the box and shot at goal, but the ball was deflected by an opponent who put himself in front of the midfielder.

The Bianconeri were determined on every ball and after 9 minutes referee Rocchi booked the first player, Nocerino, who had fouled twice in the space of a few seconds. After 16 minutes, Legrottaglie did well to stop a shot by Cruz. One minute later, Nedved chested the ball down and then shot wide with his right foot. The Bianconeri also went for long-range shots; both Cristiano Zanetti and Nedved again tried, but the ball went high in both cases. Del Piero's free kick after 24 minutes was a lot more dangerous, forcing a deflection from Julio Cesar. The middle part of the half was favourable to Juve, who controlled the game and had more possession. When Inter Milan went on the attack they found Buffon and the defenders closing down every time. But then they found a way through with Cruz who entered in from the middle and scored with a right-footer. The end of the half saw the Nerazzurri dominating and Chiellini and Legrottaglie had to struggle to stop Ibrahimovic: so ended the first half. There were no changes during the break and the Bianconeri went on the attack from the kick off, but it was hard to find a way through Inter's defence. Trezeguet tried to get the ball to Del Piero but the defenders closed on them. After 53 minutes, Palladino tried a run on the left and crossed for Trezeguet, who shot high over the bar. Inter Milan scored the second, but Cambiasso was offside when he slotted in picking up Buffon's parry, so the goal was disallowed. Ranieri played the Iaquinta card: he replaced Nedved, not at his best tonight and also booked. Mancini replied by putting Burdisso on for Figo, who had physical problems. The newly entered player was immediately booked for a foul on Cristiano Zanetti.

After 68 minutes Ibrahimovic had a great ball but Buffon saved miraculously. Ranieri then replaced Del Piero with Camoranesi too. The Italian-Argentinean was immediately in the thick of things; he went past a couple of defenders and passed to Iaquinta, who crossed for Trezeguet: Julio Cesar saved. Buffon had to make a much more difficult save on a Suazo tap-in from five yards out soon afterwards. Nocerino tried a shot after 77 minutes: Julio Cesar saved on the ground. This was the prelude to the goal. Ranieri's substitutions proved to be inspired when Palladino crossed for Iaquinta to head down towards Camoranesi, whose deflected shot ended in the back of the net. Juventus' Manager then tried Zebina too, in place of Grygera. Mancini then had to replace Maicon with Dacourt. But the draw satisfied both teams at that point and nothing else happened before the final whistle. The final result was 1-1. The title race is still open and the Bianconeri are more than ever in the running.

Ranieri: “The lads were wonderful”

The match everybody was talking about from day one of summer camp in Pinzolo is now over. Claudio Ranieri can add this draw against Inter Milan to his archives. And this is how he commented it with Juventus Channel: “It's a shame we let a goal in during our best patch. The lads were wonderful, they never gave up, they were forced to take risks and allow Inter Milan to go on the counter-attack, but they played well and deserved to draw. In the end we believed we could win it and Inter even feared us. I'm pleased because we stopped a team that are able to do anything at the moment. Zanetti and Palladino were outstanding. Camoranesi? He has music in his feet”.

Cobolli Gigli: “Determination and pride”

After such a long wait, Juventus vs. Inter Milan is now over. A lively match, played at full blast by both teams. In the end it was a draw, which satisfies everyone at Juventus. Giovanni Cobolli Gigli confirmed as much speaking with Juventus Channel: “I'm very happy with how the team played, the lads played in the way the Manager had explained to them. I saw determination and pride and the important thing is that there are still margins to improve. Camoranesi was exceptional; sometimes he was like Sivori at his peak. And then, we're lucky we have Buffon”.

Buffon:
Some would say that Buffon is man of the match but i don't think so, those of you who watch Buffon consistently knows that he did not do anything extra ordinary however when the best keeper in the world puts on a good game this is what you will get. 7

Grygera:
He didn't have his best game of the season but he was decent but he was caught too many times going forward and left his man behind. 6

Legrottaglie
As usual perfect game with one mistake that cost us a goal, therefor i will give him a 5. 5

Chiellini
I don't know where to start, he made Zlatan his bitch for the entire 90 minutes, he drove the almighty Zlatan to losing his confidence and his temper, the guy today was a world class center back, if he goes on like this he will become the best. 8

Molinaro
Got owned badly by Figo, not his day and we need start looking for replacements. 5

Nocerino
Unknown soldier however him and Zanetti were fighting hard in that midfield and giving Inter a hard time keeping or passing the ball. 7

Zanetti
Did you see that Inter fans? another player you sold to a rival team becomes and develop to a star, strong, confident, and experienced, he is better than Capello's Emerson. 8

Palladino
The future star, ran his heart out and used his skills, still lacks experience but he gave this game his all. 7.5

Nedved
along with Del Piero they disappointed big time, nothing more to say. 5

Del Piero
game was too physical for him, he should start from the bench, at least in these kind of games where we need power and pace more than anything else. 5

Trezeguet
Hollow man, but we all know it's not his fault, if Trezeguet dosn't get service then he won't do anything, therefor i am not going to rate him for justice sake.

Subs:

Camoranesi:
Welcome back, on his day he is defo up to take any player that plays in his position in the entire world, today was one those days, although he didn't play even a full half but he made an impact and god knows what would have happened if he had played from the start. 8

Iaquinta:
Never stops running never stops fighting the guy is what every football fan would like to have in his team, a real fighter.7

What are you trying to sell someone else's review as your own?
 OMG that's the most ridiculous thing I saw on these forums.

That's straight plagiarism m_ellayan!

Blame to you
Actually, between Milan and Inter, if the game has no meaning to Juve, I´d cheer for Inter.

Yeah, I noticed that report is familiar to me. :rofl2:

It´s not the 1st time though, I saw him once stealing some comments from Goal.com :howler:
I am a mod of another forum he posts in but under a different user name, guess he didn't expect me here, i usually double post my posts (here and there), so he must have taken it from the one i put there, clown...

There has been a lot of nonsense in this forum but this singularly the worst offence I have ever seen. To actually copy and paste from the same thread in the same match just beggars belief. If you did not watch the game like I did, why would you wanna pass comments on something you did not and if you did watch the game why not pass your own opinions because good or bad they are still your own opinions. If it was me I know I would never show my face here ever again due to utter shame

That's just sad.
Yeah, it's even worst than his old posts who used to be all like this:

I don't think we will win today.

You guys will lose imo.

Trezeguet sucks.

etc.......

This is how he contributes....like there, this was his after game comment:

good result for juve , like i predicted it was a draw.
This is how you should reply to him though:

Del Piero said:
Too bad i am out of golden stars...

This is my 1st post after the game and here are my thoughts

Chiellini was oustanding imo.The dude is a beast and thats what we need in the back line. I watched the game with a group of guys and they couldnt get enough of him especially in the 2nd half where Ibra saw flames trying to get the better of him.

If u were watching Juve for the 1st time u would have thought Gigi was our captain - the guy is great..leads from the back and put in vital saves from Suazo and Ibra.

I really think Zanetti had a good game today. He did'nt frequent the long balls as he did last time and I found that pleasing. Nocerino did okay coz he was there just to fight for the ball. I know many would have wanted to see Tiago but I feel in a game such as yesterday - having Nocerino and Zanetti was very necessay.

Trez cant be blamed - there was just no service. U saw him get closer to the action when Camo came in and I'm sure with him back, we could see more Trezegols!

DP was doin okay in the 1st half but faded away in the 2nd whilst Pavel really dissapointed me. He had some good opportunities to give decent shots on target but blew them all. He also ventured far too centrally at times and I recall so many occasions when Maicon and Figo would be both in acres of space double teaming Molinaro who I think didnt do too badly tbh. Palla was great, at this rate, we might seriously have to consider benching Nedved in his favour in some games. Iaquinta is like an orb of energy and performed well too

Considering how many feel Legro and Molinaro are average - I think they did good to get the offside trap right an almost all the occasions. Cruz was actually played onside by Grygera and his added killer chest control didnt help the situation.

All in all, I think we did good but I feel we could have won it esp after Camo came in. It was dissapointing though that after we scored we seemed to relax and let them get back into it.

Indeed. That the only thing I hated in the game, as we were so content with the draw, where we should have gone for the 2nd goal.
Also we played a lot of long balls, which went nowhere!!!
Is Ranieri implying the British style of play, or its because we lack a creative force in our midfield?!!!!
