at least he's better than Zala.

at least he should have been given a chance when Zlatan really SUCKED!

Del Piero should leave..that's it...anywhere but Juventus...it's enough...If Capello and some of the fans here think Juve can win more without DP then let their wishes be granted..i dun think DP can b in azzuri squad anymore if this continues..
and btw, Codinho, now Totti is back, there's NOWAY ur Pirlo of AC Milan will get the no.10 jersey...dream on..and i tip Inter 2 beat AC twice this season!

Not really one horrible match. Nedved had been at best average all through last season and more often than not below par and invisible but no one seems to notice. It comes as no surprise to me at all that he only managed 3 or 4 assists throughout the season....

We've been suffering from the lack of creativity since the 03/04 season, and even if a deep-lying midfielder ala Pirlo or Pizzarro could have helped add that missing dimension to our Juve, it's Nedved who's holding the team back nowadays. You find him being commended for effort and stamina when he's just running around making simple passes the whole time, no killer pass, no killer cross no nothing. He's not effective as an attacking midfielder behind the strikers nor is he effective as a left winger anymore.

And he's freaking 33 years of age and playing the entire 90 minutes as the starting main attacking midfielder for the champions of Italy. That's not right, he should be making second half appearances at best, he's not even half the Nedved of 2003 and it more than shows.

I have nothing against Nedved, I loved him when he was one of our best players in the past seasons but he's just not good enough to lead our attacks anymore... we need a replacement very soon. That's why I was hoping for the team to revert to 4-3-3 where Del Piero and Mutu could come in very handy... but apparently there's no chance of that with that coward Crapello in charge.
Nedved was indeed average for a lot of last season, mainly due to lack of match fitness and reoccuring injury. Last year towards the end of the season Nedved had some typical good performances, especially the matches against Lecce, Lazio, and the big game against Milan.

As for Nedved being called out as holding the team back....I do not agree. He certainly was not holding the team back last season when he dribbled around half the Lazio defense and struck with his left foot in the upper 90 to win us the match at Stadio Olimpico. He was not holding us back against Milan when he was very much involved both offensively and defensively. Now Nedved has had one bad match to start off the season and everybody is calling for his head....fact of the matter is it's too early to tell how a player will perform throughout the season, and if I remember correctly Nedved did not play that much during the summer, so indeed he is probably still a little rusty. If he continues to have terrible performances like he did last night all the way through September I would be worried of course, but not only after the first match. Give the guy a chance to regain his form. You know you would ask that for Del Piero. ;)

Anders, I've got to say, it would be a brash statement to make if we say Capello recieves unfair treatment. To be honest, at times, so does Del Piero. Yes, when put into context you do realise we're doing such things for the good of the team. And all that jazz.
Both Capello and Del Piero are being treated unfairly by two respective groups of people. However, that does not mean either side should resort to insults to put their opinions out on the table.

As for Capello not being able to get the job done with what he has....that is both correct and incorrect. When he was with Milan he got the job done without even using Savicevic half the time, while at Juventus he pretty much got the job done last year with a decent but below average Juventus squad. Every coach has his preferences, and we needed Emerson and Zlatan to begin with last season, even without the presence of Capello, if that is what you're alluding to.

Like Baggio said, Capello needs to change his work environment until he's in complete control. He can't stand the fact that del Piero is just as big as him. I don't know why he has this need to humiliate del Piero, but it's becoming ridiculous. Making him warm up is a cruel joke. And looking at del Piero's face, this situation isn't going to last long.

Fact is, no player should be as big as the coach.

Del Piero used to be as big as Lippi and that combination proved to be succesful.

I must tell you something.. I did not like the atmosphere between our players yesterday.. Trez scored our first goal of the season and nobody celebrated the goal really..
and then the scene between Zlatan and Trez. I mean it was clear that Trez could not have seen Ibra, so why had Ibra reacted so heavey..?? it was really strange. I thought all the time that Zlatan will get a red card.. somehow he did not have the right motivation..
