Not a great performance today

First half was ok...but only because Udinese allowed Juve to dicatate the pace of the game...

In the second half they altered the pace...and Juve couldn't cope...

Defence looked ok against Udinese's slow, steady build up, but when faced with the direct attack they were shown up as disorganised and perhaps lacking in leadership.

Up front Nedved and ADP did ok, but failed to hit the bye line often enough...
ADP unlucky with his free kicks...but perhaps looked a half yard of the pace.

Overall, we must remember that we have just spent a year in B, so will take time to return to top form...mid table is OK this year...next year the Juventini will be expecting more

What really worried me was the lack of pace and physical presence in the team...too often the mid field in particular were muscled out...

Next game could be a rough ride...

Good 1st half, at least up until Camo went off. I dont know y Ranieri continues to use Nocerino on the right. He cant cross and his play is clearly more suited in the middle. For Camo, I would have put Palladino on and played a 4-3-3.

We were somewhat unlucky, but it wasn't exactly a great performance. We lost focus in the 2nd half.

Criscito was MOTM, imo. He played very well. Biri isn't Juve material and Chiellini should have pushed up more. Andrade was average. He gets caught out of position alot.

Almiron didn't make our midfield tick like he usually does. He made 2 many simple passes and didn't press forward enough.

Del Piero was unlucky. 2 crossbars and a post. Iaquinta was shit. All he did was play for the foul.

Yes and that also happened against Cagliari. Right now, I'd rather see the inexperienced Nocerino start in the middle rather than the ineffective Almiron.

Too many regrets about this game, Camo getting injured, if only Marchioni were fit, Alex hitting the post and Pavel really fucking up a great chance..

Almiron seems to be getting a lot of stick here...perhaps justified.

Many wont agree with me, but I would have went to a back three after the goal, strengthend the mid-field, thus giving better supply to the forwards.
At times we were one-on-one with Udinese's forwards with one of our defender's still spare/marking space...so go to three with the spare man moving up one, or double up on the forwards...neither happened.

With the 'wingers' not hitting the bye line Trez's skill in the air wasn't being used so perhaps that is why he came off...if Camo had stayed on perhaps it would have worked...hard to believe this is the same Udinese that played in the 5-0 home defeat...respect for their good pereformance...shame it was against Juve

We didn't play well today but let's not forget we have a lot of injury's and Camo coming off injured didn't help any all. Nedved gave it he's all but he lacked touch on the balls and his shooting was off.

This team needs pace on the wings as much as I hated to see Giovinco go out on loan it's De Ceglie we should have kept for this season as we really have no one to replace Nedved on the wing. Palladino can play there but it's not his natural position.

Di Natale The Hero Again As Udinese Shock Juve

Antonio Di Natale ended the perfect week for himself by scoring the winner as Udinese ruined Juventus’ 100 per cent start to the season with a 1-0 win at the Stadio Olimpico.

The Azzurri striker headed home the only goal of the game on 47 minutes after good work by Gokhan Inler and Andrea Dossena. Udinese will be thanking their lucky stars however after Alessandro Del Piero was denied by the woodwork three times.

Juve once again had to deal with injury problems in defence. Jonathan Zebina began his four-match suspension for slapping a cameraman during the match with Cagliari, while Jean-Alain Boumsong picked up an injury in last week's friendly against Real Zaragoza. Alessandro Birindelli took Zebina's place at right-back and Domenico Criscito partnered Jorge Andrade in the centre. Mauro Camoranesi started his first Serie A match of the season, while Alessandro Del Piero retained his place despite recent criticism.

Udinese made four changes from the team thumped 5-0 at home by Napoli. Goalkeeper Antonio Chimenti was replaced by Samir Handanovic, while mid-week Azzurri hero Antonio Di Natale was unleashed up-front to form a fearsome-looking trident alongside Fabio Quagliarella and Gyan Asamoah.

Juventus flew out of the starting blocks and Sergio Almiron fired wide from the edge of the box after good work from Pavel Nedved. David Trezeguet headed wide from a Nedved cross on eight minutes before Del Piero thumped the upright with a left-footed strike from eight yards. The offside flag was up however, so it would not have counted.

Udinese had their first shot of the game on 20 minutes as Gyan Asamoah beat Criscito to the ball in the area but blazed over.

Nedved was in particularly impressive form and another delightful pass released Del Piero, but his lob was too high under pressure from Handanovic. Just minutes later 'The Golden Boy’ was desperately unlucky not to give Juventus the lead after seeing his superb 25-yard free kick cannon off the post with Handanovic rooted to the spot.

Camoranesi limped off with a muscular problem and was replaced by Antonio Nocerino, while there was trouble in the crowd as a fan had to be ejected from the stadium by security for letting off a firework.

Udinese were very quiet in the first half but could have taken the lead when good work down the left by Di Natale led to Gyan Asamoah firing over the bar. The Zebrette did get their noses in front however at the start of the second period as good work from Inler and Dossena allowed Di Natale to head into an empty net.

The goal seemed to stun Juventus who could not get out of their half for long periods. This forced Claudio Ranieri into action as Iaquinta and Tiago were brought on to replace Trezeguet and Tiago. Juve continued to disappoint, although Nedved wasted a glorious opportunity to equalise on the hour-mark after cutting inside his marker and curling over.

However Udinese almost made it 2-0 just moments later as Quagliarella released Gyan Asamoah and the Ghanaian saw his scorching volley smash off the upright with Buffon beaten. Di Natale then wasted another promising opening on 73 minutes, volleying wide from inside the area.

The Juventus midfield was lacking any form of creativity as the Udinese defence coped comfortably with Juve’s attacks. Almiron and substitute Tiago were in particularly poor form for La Vecchia Signora.

Nevertheless Juve were almost gifted an equaliser with five minutes remaining when Handanovic fumbled a cross, but Iaquinta was unable to turn the loose ball in. Iaquinta had the ball in the back of the net moments later, although the referee had already blown for an infringement by Del Piero.

Despite Juventus’ dreadful second-half performance, they were incredibly unlucky not to get an equaliser in injury time as Del Piero unbelievably hit the woodwork for a third time. Il Pinturicchio executed another sublime free-kick only to see it smash off the crossbar with Handanovic just a spectator.

Juventus: Buffon; Birindelli, Andrade, Criscito, Chiellini; Camoranesi (Nocerino 30), Zanetti (Tiago 56), Almiron, Nedved; Del Piero, Trezeguet (Iaquinta 56)

Udinese: Handanovic; Zapatocny, Zapata, Coda; Mesto, Ilner, D’Agostino, Dossena (Lukovic 85); Quagliarella, Asamoah (Floro Flores 64), Di Natale (Pepe 85)

what happen with a goal headed by laquinta? He didn't do anything and DP was not a part of the play. Compare to a goal by Di Natale. He was offside and he was a part of the play!

Blame Tingerman for boring game!

Can we say players were too tried from Euro quali?

I think so. The 5-0 Napoli embarrassment was inexcusable. They are going to redeem themselves by beating the crap out of us. This is going to be a much harder match than anyone may think.

I honestly question our chances on this one. In the battle between two black and white clubs trying to figure out their place after so many offseason changes, I'm thinking draw at the moment -- and a ton of work to even earn that much.
OK, so I was right about everything but the draw.
