I said that Capello isn't a tactical genius and he isn't. He's a very good manager but that's down to his disciplinary skills, not his tactics. When has Cap ever been known for his tactical class? Never. He gets a good bunch of players, puts them together and gets results out of them. As I said, he's a very good manager, but tactically he isn't that great.

What's funny is that you're probably believing that crap.

But he isnt as bad as people here would have us think. Tactics isnt just about saying lets play 3-5-2 and replacing a few players from time to time, tactics is about micromanagement, letting every player know what's expected off him and what do do, and most of that is done before the match, during preparation. You cant really say that Cap is tactically inept because he doesnt make a substitution or two when you would like him to.

Now that I can somewhat concur, Capello never looked like he has the in-game tactical abilities as some other world class coaches. But he makes it up with a great ability in player judgement and putting together a group of good players that can work well.

He's still a world class coach!

but do u think our team is reaching our full potiental

saying zambrotta for exmaple, i can see he is becoming an average player under cap, or its the problem of the player himself?

LOL

oh as soon as a team wins its the players, but when a team loses its the coach right?

look at teams with world class players/squads who dont perform well. eg. inter and real madrid right now.
I never said that. What I meant was that players can win trophies without a world class coach but no matter how good a coach is he still needs players to go out there and follow his instructions.

Real aren't performing well because they don't have a balanced squad. That's my opinion. Sure, a better manager would help, but so would having a half-decent defence and a proper transfer policy.

Of course coaches make a difference, massive ones sometimes, all I'm trying to say is that it would have been criminal for the Milan team coached by Capello not to win the CL. That team was too damn good, and with or without Cap they would have succeeded.

If you think that Cap is tactically one of the best managers in the world I would be very interested to hear why you think that.

To summarise everything, Capello is good in defensive play and wear down the opponent's patience, however he is predictable and his tactics can be played down very easily.
