I just watched the goal videos. The finishings were excellent.

Miccoli: Both finishes were effective. First, Micco sneaked it in the near post. His second goal was on the far post. Didn't do too much, just placed the ball at the net. And he does know how to do it efficiently.

Del Piero: His goal was a well-worked move for the whole team. From the final pass, to Ale's first-touch shot. Excellent movement by the whole team. Finishing was excellent and effective. 2nd post.

Nedved: His finish was the only emphatic finish in the game. Forceful and accurate. Down the near post.

It was no surprise that Frey wasn't able to stop the goals as the players were attacking him from every angle. *Notable: Del Piero's movement for the assist was excellent. He dragged those defenders for Neddy to get free fire that missile.

@Hydde the assist to Miccolli was done by Tacchinardi as he likes to play the ball that way all the time

@DaJuve, Gilardino was not offside, h was level with the defender, besides what was all that daylight rule that was being said before as linesmen completely ignore the rule

I am not being overly sensitive but you have to understand that Juventus are being undermined by officials. In 1998, we were the best team in the land but what do ppl remember, Ronaldo was not given a penalty when Iuliano fouled him, they chosse to ignore that in the San Siro we completely outplayed Inter with Davids on his debut being awesome, Inzaghi had a gola harshly disallowed for handball, but nobody mentions that, they say Inter should have been given a penalty

If Inter were given a penalty they might have lost it as well and if they scored, it still might have ended in a draw and no guarantees that Inter would not feck up as they did in their next game where they lost to Bologna , I think.

Back to this game, it was not just on the one occassion that an iffy offside was given, as Morfeo was marginally offside and then again he could be onside but the speed at which they raise their flags is annoying

@Denco: I totally agree with you about the offside calls. Whenever a Parma player was in a questionable position, the flag would shoot up. The same can't be said when Miccoli and co were trying their luck.

From what I've read in the Italian papers and what I've seen on the Italian sport shows, they aren't really making anything at all about the offsides/onsides calls at all, to tell you the truth.

And if you've ever watched Italian sports shows, they make a big deal about everything.

I think we are all starting to get a little over-excited about the calls and non-calls. We've been controversy free for the past couple of weeks now.

but we cant deny that Juventus actually is favoured. But then again, who wouldn't wanna favour Juve

But I didn't notice any wrong decisions made by the linesmen for Parma anyway. Yes I do believe Morfeo should've gotten a penalty but he was well offside.

@Denco yeah good points; been telling my Inter and anti-Juve friends that for ages but they won't listen. One other point to add, according to the text book rules of 1998, that was an obstruction so the ref, if he had whistled, should have given an indirect freekick not a penalty, as the rules clearly stated. Nowadays that rule does not exist anymore, not sure if it was removed because of that incident.

@Sally all big teams are favoured, but at the end of the year they're balanced favours. This year juve are level if not worse considering we have had around 3 or 4 penalties whistled against us.

Obstruction is always and has always been penalised by an indirect freekick but I am not so sure being kicked in the stomach as Iuliano clumsily did can be construed as obstruction even if technically it was obstruction

Not sure about your second point though as noone would agree that in Juve;s case it is balanced as we get cases in our favour far more than we do against us

But its always amusing to read Milan and Juve fans argue about how referees favour the other

Its like Macdonalds and Burger king arguing which kills cows more

MY favs plays of this game were
del piero goal: Maresca started the play in juventus defense..... he did a 1-2 in the center of the field with someone...and then the through pass to DP who finished it wondefully.

Nedveds goal: Here Del Piero did evrything.. and the nedved finishing was excellent... just top class skill here.

Not in the penalty area. Since 1998 an obstruction in the penalty area is a penalty not an indirect free kick.

Yeah but Iuliano was ahead of Ronaldo so he was trying to shoot the ball far away, Ronaldo just touched the ball before Iuliano hit it. Nowadays that would have been a penalty, but for 1997 that was an indirect free kick.
