Serie A is not the best league anymore. Let's face the reality.
Maybe not in terms of the top being the best of Europe, but the competitveness is still by far the highest. Due to the top 4 getting worse and the subtop and low-tiers getting better, teams are much closer tied and the league is much more unpredictable. Look at the league table!

Due to financiel restrictions put down about 5 years ago, teams started making better long-term projects and teams with very competent management like Udinese, Palermo, Atalanta, Samp etcetera are now picking the fruits.

Whats' happening in England now, is what happened in Italy years ago (Though less foreign influence). Teams spent too much money and such a sudden cash-influx usally leads to nothing.

Most Serie A teams are well managed (continuity and good market strategies) and have quality technical players.

Serie A is more competitive than ever.
