WE LOOKED AS BAD TODAY AS ZLATANS HAIRCUT !!!!

We never looked to win this game, even though we somehow came away with the 3 points.

Bad passing, bad tempo, out played..........

We are going NOWHERE with the way we are playing right now, we will have NO chance of beating Milan playing this way.

Champions League my ass if we play like this !!!!!!!!

I kept seeing a billboard during the game that said JuveSoccerSchool.com, I think its time we send our boys to this school...........

Guys you should be happy that we won the way we did. I felt that juve won with the least amount of effort. It was a game that Juve controlled easily and never got out of hand after the goal. Everyone knew that a goal was comming the question was when.
You guys have very high standards you expect every game to be won in a superb way and with attacking football. I dont remember a time when you were satisfied with the performance.

Wrong. Football's about character and the will to win. Which we showed. Did you see the last 5 minutes of the match? There was the iron determination by the bianconneri not to concede, and they didn't.

That's what wins games.

yeah, eveyone is giving their extra bit defending, even Zlatan is helping out in the defense in the last 10mins...

Actually, the parallels between the Milan-Parma and Juve-Lazio matches this weekend are pretty strong, IMO.

Not to say that we didn't suck on the pitch at times. But if Milan is the competition we measure ourselves by, I actually think we fared a little better against better competition.

As Don Bes said, we didn't panic like in the match against Reggina. What I saw was the team stepping up the offensive tempo and playing a lot of the game in Lazio's half, creating chances, but not acting desperate. Sticking to that strategy to wear Lazio down until things started to go in. A rather disciplined comeback after some defensive screw-ups.

Milan, on the other hand, had to pour on the attack much harder late in the match against Parma.

(...And, yes, I'm still angry about the Inter draw. :( )

I feel That im the only one who thought Del Piero played well today. Sure he missed a great opportunity, but seeing how confident he is with the ball. He had some nice touches and dribbles, and has a great understanding with Zlatan. The build up before his missed chance was great, the way he and Zlatan understood each other.
he played well in the first half, faded in the second (likely he got tired). But it was sad to see, that his touch is as good as ever, but his legs are not able to serve him as they should. He makes the dribble, but cannot past the opponent cause he is changing direction so slow, like a grandpa.

We didn't play good today. Our defence in the first half reminded me of our last year's defence. I don't know what the hell happened to Thuram, but he was awfull today, made too many errors. Our midfield looked good, while attack wasn't at its best.

Del Piero had a great chance, but I don't know how a player like him managed to miss a chance like that. However, Kapo's presence helped us a lot, as most of the actions came from his crosses, including the second goal, where the dribbled perfectly past two Lazio defenders to assist for Zlatan who saved our asses today.

Anyways, here's my ratings :

...

Buffon 7 - Apart from the goal (which wasn't his fault), he didn't have much to do.

Thuram 5.5 - Made too many errors today.

Cannavaro 6 - He wasn't great either, but at least didn't make errors.

Zebina 6 - Average performance.

Zambrotta 7.5 - Zambrotta, as usual. No need to talk about his performances.

Camoranesi 7 - The guy's improving. He isn't keeping the ball as much as he used to.

Olivera 6.5 - Scored one goal and did well before he was substituted.

Emerson 7 - He was unstopable at the midfield, along with Appiah. Helped defence a lot too.

Appiah 7 - Same as Emerson.

Del Piero 5.5 - Had some good efforts, but the ball wasn't getting in. Had an unbeliavable miss though.

Zlatan 6.5 - Appart from the goal, he did nothing. He had some good shots, but thats all.

Subs:

Kapo 7.5 - If it wasn't for him, we'd probalby draw with Lazio. He was great today. He certainly is showing that he deserves more playing time.

Zalayeta 5.5 - He did nothing today.
In the first half the tactics of Lazio surprised our defence a bit. Muzzi and Pandev are played on the sides, so they pulled Canna and Thuram apart, so they could not cover each other as well as in earlier matches. At the beginning they made some mistakes but as the match went on both of them won the battle against the player he marked (Canna-Pandev, Thuram-Muzzi).

imo:

Zambro was not as good as you see, recent matches he seemed to be a bit tired for me.

Camo starts to convice me that he got, at least, a little brain.

DP was good in the first half, the chance he missed was not as great, tough he should have scored.

Oliveira was a complete disaster, he was unconfident in the attack and weak in defending, luckily he headed a nice goal (and unfortunately he injured)

Zlatan was useful

Zalayeta took part in some nice combination

first of all we earned the win , i dont think a team that comes from behind "sucked" .
For god's sake inter didn't do anything against us and they were soo happy that they got a draw in Guisspe Meazza. We need to alter our mentality a little bit.
U just can't expect to beat any team 4-0 or 3-0 in Serie A , this is not freaking premeir league, where u can beat anyone 4-0.

Also u can't expect to beat Lazio at team that has their pride at stake easily, its not gonna happen. And as Capello said the team went in and they thought they already won the game.

-About alex: you seem to forget that he just came back from an a fitness problem and he had some injuries along the season. we should just stand up and clap for our captain for him to play the game he played.
i saw that a member in this forum said that he "****** SUCKED" now we cant have this said about our captain, we should be proud of alex to play like that, even though he missed that chance. I think he will get better and better in the time soon if he didnt get any injuries.

- good to see that appiah had a good game with camo. i heard that they played a wonderfull game in midfield. thats a very good boost for us, and would give both tacchi and blasi an alaram that they will have to fight for their position.

-kapo, this guy is tipped to be the next henry. Nice to see him playing good.i think that he will get more games instead of neddy.I would like to see what will he do with olivera in CL.

finally i think that we shouldn't say that "if we play against milan or in CL like that we will lose very badly" in those matches everything is different. the players will have a different mentality , just trust me i know it.
forzaa juve- a very good win

Serie A Wrap: Ibra The Hero For Juve
12/5/2004 6:35:00 PM
Juventus defeated a resilient Lazio to maintain their fantastic start to the season, which has seen them regain their four point lead at the top of the table.
Goran Pandev gave under-fire Domenico Caso’s men a shock lead after eleven minutes. Juve then showed their fighting character with a comeback, which keeps them on track for the scudetto. First, Ruben Olivera equalised from close range after Mauro Camoranesi flighted the ball in with a deft touch. Olivera’s replacement Olivier Kapo demonstrated his skill in beating defenders before getting to the by-line to play in a ball, which after having been deflected, fell to Ibrahimovic who had the simple task of finishing from point-blank range.

Udinese remain third in the table after narrowly overcoming Siena one-nil at the Friuli. Former Empoli striker, Antonio Di Natale’s sixteenth minute strike put the home side ahead. Udinese were reduced to ten men right at the death of the match after Giampiero Pinzi was given his marching orders for a second yellow card offence. Luciano Spaletti’s side have now won four of their last five matches, a run that has seen them escape the clutter of mid-table.

Zdenak Zeman’s Lecce continue their goal-routs with a three-two victory at home to Livorno. Lecce’s defensive shortcomings were exploited mid-way through the first half when Livorno took a surprise lead through twenty-eight year old Luca Vigiani. Italian under twenty-one international Emmanuele Rullo equalised on the thirty-ninth minute, but within a minute Danilevicius had restored Livorno’s lead. Early in the second half, Dalla Bona revived Lecce’s prospects of gaining points from the penalty spot. Lecce then went on to claim all three points thanks to Giacomazzi’s strike on the hour mark. The victory moves Lecce into seventh place, just two points behind fourth.

Cagliari won their second match in a row after another goal-a-plenty game at the Sant’Elia against Chievo. A Gianfranco Zola double in the first half put Cagliari into a two-nil lead, the little magician’s second goal came from the penalty spot on the thirty-ninth minute. Antonio Langella consolidated Cagliari’s first half lead with seconds remaining of the first half to give his side a three-goal cushion. Sergio Pellissier (58) pulled one back for the visitors, but any hopes of a comeback were shortly extinguished after the Uruguayan Abeijon found the net to restore his side’s three goal deficit. Amauri scored a late consolation for Chievo, but it was never going to be enough to stop Cagliari coming away with maximum points from this fixture. The Rossublu’ hold on to fourth place in Serie A, while Chievo stay in the congested mid-table.

Fiorentina emerged victorious from the derby of the Appenine thanks to Enzo Maresca’s sixty third minute goal. The win lifts Fiorentina into eighth place and keeps their progression up the table on track. Bologna remain dangerously close to the relegation zone sitting just one point ahead of Parma.

Palermo moved up to fifth place with a narrow victory over the hapless Atalanta. Franco Brienza’s goal just before half time was all it took to see off the Nerazzuri who have now failed to score for five games. Brescia elevate themselves away from the relegation fodder with a three-one victory at Reggina. Stankevicius (18) and Martinez (39) put Brescia into a two-nil half time lead. Marco Zamboni restored some hope for Reggina with fifteen minutes remaining, but Andrea Caracciolo struck his sixth goal of the campaign to ease any nerves for De Biasi’s men.

We dominated the match and create most of the chances in the game... Lazio was playing counter-attack tactics and was nowhere near our goal...

The counter-attack tactics did made Thuram very uncomfortable which made us concede a few dangerous free kick.. other than that, we were calm and cool for the last 80mins..

As i see things , Juve's tempo in recent matches is not stable as it was at the begining of the season & this is normal cuase every team will be subject to these ups & downs , so no need to worry of the upcoming matches & especially the Milan match cause i'm sure that Juve will play a great match regardless of the result
