Nice write-up, Arif.
In short, the good was the continual offensive pressure we displayed throughout. We also didn't seem to panic -- sticking to a strategy that would need to get an equalizer by the break and pull ahead by the second half. And while I think some of our forward attacks may have been a little over-creative at times with back-passes, drop-offs, and no-touches ... I'd rather see us error on that side than a stodgy, predictable attack when we need to be offensive-minded to win a match.
Also good was that once we did get the go-ahead goal, we didn't rest on our laurels this time. The attacks continued, Capello waved the team forward at times, to take advantage of the defensive holes that Lazio opened up when they had to press forward for an equalizer.
The bad was that we did have some bad defensive lapses in the first half. More concerning to me was that there were a number of Lazio passes that we should have been able to disrupt but didn't.
And while we did press effectively, the winning goal did take a bit of luck to go through.

Anyways, here's my ratings :
Buffon 7 - Apart from the goal (which wasn't his fault), he didn't have much to do.
Thuram 5.5 - Made too many errors today.
Cannavaro 6 - He wasn't great either, but at least didn't make errors.
Zebina 6 - Average performance.
Zambrotta 7.5 - Zambrotta, as usual. No need to talk about his performances.
I think he could have made more of an impact on both offense and defense. He seemed best in midfield in this match. 6.5.
Camoranesi 7 - The guy's improving. He isn't keeping the ball as much as he used to.
Camo had some killer crosses. A few minor mistakes, but this guy has really come on and made our limited attacking strength that much more effective. Great to see this out of him in recent weeks.
Olivera 6.5 - Scored one goal and did well before he was substituted.
Emerson 7 - He was unstopable at the midfield, along with Appiah. Helped defence a lot too.
He had quite a few threatening offensive contributions today. And he disrupted a lot of passes -- critical for his role. But I think he let a few through too. 6.5.
Appiah 7 - Same as Emerson.
Appiah seems to have improved his passing and hookups with teammates over last year. Later in the match, he was taking on a more offensive role and seemed to be effective. 6.5.
Del Piero 5.5 - Had some good efforts, but the ball wasn't getting in. Had an unbeliavable miss though.
Zlatan 6.5 - Appart from the goal, he did nothing. He had some good shots, but thats all.
I agree on DP. His presence was hardly felt. Zlatan, on the other hand, ensured that Lazio could not take their eyes off of him. He was a force out there. Not someone who could score or assist at any moment necessarily, but he definitely forced Lazio to adjust their defensive strategy. Eventhough he also seemed to spend a lot of time lying on the pitch nursing knocks, I'd also go with a 6.5 too.
Subs:
Kapo 7.5 - If it wasn't for him, we'd probalby draw with Lazio. He was great today. He certainly is showing that he deserves more playing time.
Zalayeta 5.5 - He did nothing today.
Zalayeta did nothing is right. And Kapo was largely responsible for setting up the game winner. But Kapo also added an offensive dimension to the game that we needed. 7.
In short, we should have clobbered Lazio 2-0 or 3-0. And there were occasions where the result could have closely meant lost points. But a win is a win, and it's character-building to see the team come from behind in a disciplined manner to pull out a victory. Well done.
