I understand DP was fairly poor (like everybody else except Zlatan) but why take a forward who can be decisive and make a difference and put the crappy Zala there? Why not change to a trident attack then? It wasn't coinsidence that when DP left and Zala came in, we lost the good control we had. I'm not praising DP here, but I'm saying like it is.

DP can make a difference and when we're losing, why take him out and replace him with Zalayeta? Stupid. Not an action of a "a subsituting genius".

Jeez, Juve are trying to do everything the hard way this season.

Buffon needs a kick up the backside....quite literally, he might have jumped higher then and saved The Gardener's header.

Only Juve players that performed IMO were Zlatan (without him we could be fvcked against Lazio) and Camo who I thought had a decent second half.

Despite all this, I actually thought Juve played some decent football at times...and were looking dangerous...we just lacked a cutting edge.

Too many of our 'star' players are not performing - we need an injection of pace and creativity over the summer (and no - I'm not talking one of Dr Agricola's injections!).

Big games DP has scored in this season - None (except from a penalty)

Big games Zalayeta has scored in this season - 2 (inter, Madrid)

taking out a midfielder and playing trident (zlatan, del piero, zalayeta) is dangerous because inter would dominate the midfield, Capello was cautious and he didnt want to lose his grip on the possesion in midfield.

Really an outsanding performance once again from our team. Shouldn't have expected anything more tonight. As usual the story of the match was as follows: horrible team passing, no ideas with the ball, no creativity in midfield at all, no ideas other than lofting the ball up to our forwards, no urgency, no heart, and basically no chances created. We created two opporunities the whole match in a corner kick that struck the bar and an Ibrahimovic strike that just sailed over the bar. Apart from that, absolutely nothing. This garbage display was just as bad as the Liverpool match last week.

Does Juventus ever practice free kicks or corners? Surely not because we cannot do anything with freekicks and squander half of the chances we have. All of the corners except for one were horrible, with Nedved or Camoranesi giving the ball away with this idiotic short corners that never work. Then the freekicks we have to let everybody from Birindelli to Ibrahimovic have a try because nobody can do anything with the ball standing still with a line of men in front of them. I have never seen such inept freekicks in my life. FFS, these are professionals we are talking about here. I would have struck the ball better than half of them tonight.

Just the same old story of Juventus looking pathetic against our fellow top sides, not being able to do anything apart from squander chances. It's come to the point where you cannot expect anything more from this side, and we have to play Milan in just a few weeks. That will be just great.

Buffon should have done better on the Cruz header. I mean he's only ranked as the top keeper in the world..

Birindelli did not do much apart from strike a few freekicks and get exposed at the back by clearly superior players.

Thuram was far from solid and was not able to completely shut down Cruz or Martins.

Cannavaro made some mistakes like his french partner and added nothing to the team going forward as usual.

Zambrotta was extremely poor on the night and was shut down by Ze Maria and J Zanetti on the left flank. He could not make runs up the pitch because of those two Inter players and his defending was poor, especially in the first half.

Camoranesi was by far our best midfielder, but that is not saying much. He created some opportunities but he basically had to do everything by himself.

Emerson was extremely poor as well and seems to becoming even more of a hunchback out there. Clearly he is not fit at all.

Appiah was poor as I expected and clearly he has no place in Juventus. Passing game is just as bad as Blasi and adds zilch going forward.

Nedved was horrible apart from some good link up plays with Zlatan. Other than that he gave the ball away and his touches were way off the mark. Nedved is no where near fit so disregard what those commentators were saying.

Del Piero did absolutely nothing and was rightfully subbed.

Zlatan made some chances by himself and was certainly our most threatening player. He was lucky though to stay on the pitch after he headbutted Mihajlovic in the opening minutes of the match. He came close tonight to scoring however that's not good enough obviously.

Blasi came on and added nothing to team. Big surprise.

Zalayeta was better than Del Piero for sure however that is not saying much. Neither really did anything to inspire the team.

The only good thing to come from this match was the introduction of 19 year old Masiello to the first team, getting his appearance in Serie A. Masiello came in for Birindelli in the second half and did not set a foot wrong during his time on the pitch. He impressed me when he had the ball; Masiello seemed calm and collected when the ball was at his feet and he made intelligent passes around the pitch. I can tell you already I would choose Masiello over Birindelli, even though he has not been tested yet with players running at him. He does seem to have a bright future though and hopefully Capello will start him in the next matches.

He's right...last year he was attacked for his "we have no defense" statements and "we are going nowhere"..everyone thought that the early season Juve was going to last..Vinni put out the WARNINGS and they came true...
This year he kept pointing out the weakness and no one wanted to listen..

Bottom line: They have a good team..an above average team IN SERIE A but they don't have a WORLD CLASS TEAM that can compete with the TOP FLIGHT CLUBS when they are in form.

Uhh, I don't want to turn this into a huge DP debate (time consuming, worthless and annoying in the end :D ) but all I'm saying is that DP has scored goals, important goals. He did make a few good passes to Zlatan tonight. Zala didn't.

Oh my god, are people seriosly claiming that Zala did better than DP tonight? The hatred for DP is deeper than I expected here. All I'm asking is that you should even try to be objective. I can't understand what Zala did tonight.

Agreed.. whatever it is, both arent good enough for 1st team, but Zala will be more useful than Del Piero coz of his fat pay.....

With risk of being branded the chairman of Vinman's fan club, I have to echo Incubo's post. HE IS ALWAYS RIGHT!

Just cause he has the balls the make critical points about the team, he gets shat apon.
