------------------buffon

bamba-----cannavaro---chiellini---grosso

giovinco---poulsen---marchisio---iago

------------------------Diego----

------------------amauri-------

sick of zebina and grygera, i think im better than both and i havent touched a ball in 5 years.:agree: give bamba a go, could he be worse than zebina and grygera?? i seriously doubt it.

Imagine having some fast creative winger like Giovinco and Iago going nuts up those flanks swinging in crosses for Amauri to header in.

Diego just playing behind amauri and spreading passes around to the flanks as well as putting amauri through would be nice.

we should win this and i think we will. both sampdoria and palermo are having difficult matches. i think we will win it with a poor 1-0 but i can't ask for more right now. we just need the 3 points...

Isn't our bald midget out for the rest of the season?
:agree:

Giovinco is out for the remaining four games.

I would make the formation I'd like to see, but we all know it's going to be the same old 4-3-1-2 with the usual suspects.

Playing the 4-4-2 will mean our attack will always be predictable coming from the flanks, and since we've no gifted wingers and the same goes for midfielders too ATM, I can't see why we should play this formation really. Unless we're gonna play it the way Spurs do, but then they play it while having fast, gifted and more importantly player who actually bother to position themselves perfectly and always go for the ball.
Predictable?? Dude we are losing every game, it doesn't get any more predictable.

With 4-4-2 you need one player to play in SS position. We have three players that are more than capable of filling that area; Del Piero, Diego and Giovinco. The job of the SS is to transform the flat 4-4-2 into a semi-three dimensional formation.

I am not saying we should play 4-4-2. Not at all. This is something "the coach" should decide. I was simply stating the obvious. We have zero movement on the field. Many here complained about Amauri's poor form and how he is not the player he was last season. We last season we had at least 20x the amount of crosses ATTEMPTS than this season. We had much more movement on the pitch.

Look at when Diego for an example gets the ball. He looks up. Amauri and Del Piero are marked. Del Piero makes an attempt and drops back and gets the ball from Diego. Now the latter is marked and Del Piero is stuck with the ball. He is left with two choices, either pass it to sissoko/melo or try dribbling maybe it solves the issue. The latter has a higher chance of it succeeding, since 80% of times in 2-3 s from the time Melo or Sissoko gets the ball its lost and a counter attack starts against us.

Same Situation but from last season Nedved has the ball. Del Piero and Amauri are marked. The following things happen:
1- Molinaro starts running cluelessly on the left.
2- Camoranesi asks for the ball on the right
3- Del Piero drops back a little to have a chance of receiving the ball and he does
4- Nedved moves to the middle.
Now Del Piero has many passing options.

Thats why we are sucking so bad this season.

We finally have a midfield that consist of players who know how to pass the ball to the player next to them.

Surely not Amauri up front? We would score more goals without him and 10 men! Iaquinta is better option with DP as per ZAF3000 above. Also, that team gives no width, which we suffered with earlier in the season as our team is so static.

You're right, we need off the ball movement but I just don't feel that the 4-4-2 formation makes the best of options as Raneiri's two seasons showed, it gets pretty predictable especially now with no tireless Nedved on the right flank. The best option IMO is the 4-2-3-1 formation and that could well change to the 4-3-2-1 or even 4-3-1-2 depending on injuries and results on the field.
