I think there's a good reason to be unhappy with the performance tonight. Arguably the first time Juventus have had moments of stupidity both offensively and defensively this season, and some basic errors have gifted Genoa a way back into the match twice.

Once we took the lead the first time it appeared to me as if our players had stopped pushing and imposing themselves upon Genoa, and allowed them to be more direct and attacking, and the space they found behind our fullbacks was criminal, and it eventually led to their first goal (good cross, and a poor Chiellini). The second time we took the lead, I was surprised when Juventus started sitting deeper and passing the ball in our own half more. It allowed Genoa to pressure some of our players into making mistakes and it gifted them the opportunity of not having to travel far to get the ball towards our goal. If Juventus was going keep possession then they needed to bring it forward more effectively and play in the opponents half. It was a poor attempt at controlling the game (I liked that Conte brought on Pazienza, however), and I didn't like the amount of 50-50 challenges which Genoa had around our penalty area all match.

As for the players, I was glad Conte went for two forwards, shame Vucinic did his best to be sloppy in possession. This was obviously going to happen with that player though, because he's always been inconsistent, and it will be interesting to see the reaction of fans if he doesn't sort it out soon. The chance he shot at the goalkeeper was really bad. I didn't like that Pepe had stayed on for so long in the match, it gave away that we were going to try and play for 2-1 and he had a poor game. Matri and Pirlo were our best.

Finally, I think it's pathetic that Juventus had to resort to playing Chiellini at left back because De Ceglie and Grosso are both so crap. This is a situation we shouldn't have got in, and last season's attention to that position (Traoré :lol2:) proves how little interest certain people at the club seem to have in fixing it. For the last 3/4 games Chiellini has been at left back I've noted each time that he's positionally off and drifting into the middle almost holding hands with Bonucci, and today it allowed Rossi to get in behind and nod in an easy goal. And offensively he's still showing the same clumsiness that he's always been associated with, which wasn't horribly exposed as it was when he was playing in the middle of defense. He cannot cross and he cannot shoot either, didn't show signs of linking up with Estigarribia. He's a centre back, who has been in the worst form of his career lately and this situation isn't helping.

The next three games will show us where we really are. Pirlo, Matri, Vucinic, Vidal, Licht, Chiellini, Buffon should be starters. Pepe, Bonucci, PDC, Grosso shouldn't even be allowed on the stands. How long will Buffon and Vidal be out? I know they are injured, but is there possibility for them to play against Inter?

Reports saying Vidal will play vs Inter,Buffon probably not.

Storari is a good and safe enough replacement for buffon, we shouldnt be worrying too much on the goalkeeping as much as the other areas.

One striker is not long term solution. We are not some mid table team at leat it's not what we aspire for. DP or Quag and Matri upfront, Vucinic left, Elia right. I would like to try this. Or maybe Vucinic- Matri-Quag in attack and Vidal-Marchisio-Pirlo in mid. It's too offensive but we conceded goals when we tried to defend so maybe pushing up more and attacking like it was against Parma could be solution.
Someone tell Mourinho and Bayern Munich that they don't have long term solutions.
We don't have the squad to play like a big team 4-4-2 and it's f*cked us trying to play that way for 2 years. How did Napoli and Udinese make the CL spots? With 'mid-table' formations. Until we have the players, this team needs to do the same... play for results no matter how boring.

this team has spent beyond a sane amount of money to still have such MASSIVE issues!!!

the insistence on hiring a coach with a big fat 0 amount of top level experience!!!

and then not to mention our great skills in buying top talent and at selling for great profits!!

Melo,Diego and Ziegler amongst others must love watchin us play like this!!and tbh i dont blame them

Melo as retarded as he can be,has more grit than the majority of players we have

Diego was a bigger threat than any midfilder weve had since

Ziegler was prob the best lb we got our hands on the last few yrs and we didnt give him one game!!!

WE ARE THE INTER OF OLD!!!A TEAM THAT WILL SUFFER TO WIN AND COMPETE FOR TITLES!!!

Well done Marotta n co!!WELL FKN DONE!!!

Waiting to read what Conte has to say about our performance today.
I'm guessing that we played well, Pepe is still working hard, we need patience with Krasic, Elia doesn't speak Italian and Quag is not psychologically ready to play.

Yes but RM and Bayern have wingers who can actually beat their markers, while ours strugle to keep possesion. Attacking trident with Matri,Vucinic, Quag should be tested. And Vidal, Marchisio, Pirlo would offer much needed cover at the back. Insisting with Pepe, Krasic who is playing really bad, would be stubborn from Conte.

Dont you think we need atleast a leftback who can control an easy ball in less than two or three touches?
ofcourse but de ceglie can't even control the ball with 1 touch, let alone two or three, and grosso? he offers nothing defensively.

so that brings me back to what i said, you all want one as soon as the other fails, its an endless circle and i don't see how it is Conte's fault, that is purely the fault of marotta for not solving that issue in the summer. I doubt ziegler would have offered a better option at all

Unhappy with the result but more than happy with how the team is doing.

We still haven't been firing on all cylinders but certain players haven't played to their potential or gotten a chance but that will happen with time.

We're aiming for a top 3 finish remember and we seem good enough so far in this weak league to do that.

A win tonight and a win against Fiorentina then a draw with Inter would have everyone jizzing their pants so we just need to beat Inter instead to even everything out. :D

That's still a lonestriker formation but i agree, at least one of the two wingers should be a goal-scorer and play a little higher. My point is that 2 stay-at-home strikers is ridiculous. We got the second goal with Vucinic playing an AM role but he's only got limited stamina.
