I remember a few yrs ago,Seedorf was absolute dogshite under Allegri until he turned on one of those vintage performances against the likes of Barca in the CL.
Some players just happen to be motivated in big games especially when age gets to them even though they play like crap in most games.Maybe Allegri is expecting something like that from Pirlo but its still a risky choice nonetheless considering we'll be up against a pretty dangerous counter attacking side.

God I hope so. But I seriously doubt thats the reason Allegri playing him. I think the 2 main reasons are: 1) Hey, play pirlo, he can control the flow of the game. 2) I can't drop Pirlo after I dropped him once I was with milan and it turned out to be a huge mistake.

I'm always pretty confident at home in Serie A. If we score early the game is over for 95% of matches. The main way we'll get in trouble here is letting the game stay tied or close for a long period, as we always have an eye on the CL game.

Even at 70% we have to be good enough, they are 17th FFS.
