What an easy game and such a pleasant surprise, treating the match how we should, intense to finish the job and smart to save energy. Giovinco messed the experience up in the end. Anelka instead would have been much better. Vidal was in super beast mode out there.

Good result in the other match too.

Buffon 6.5

Barzagli 7
Marrone 6.5
Peluso 6.5

Lichtsteiner 7
Vidal 7.5
Pirlo 7
Marchisio 6.5
De Ceglie 6

Vucinic 6.5
Matri 6.5

Caceres 6.5
Giovinco 6
Pogba 6.5

Just finished watching the game. Stupid ESPN UK decided to show a 5pm kick off at 10.15pm here. So had to wait to watch it on the big screen.

did you not find the commentator irritating?

how he pronounced "Marco Vuckucini" at the beginning and still kept calling him marco throughout the game

And Buffon is now French, judging by the commentator's pronounciation.

Solid performance, aside from a couple of early mistakes from Marrone.

Juve did a good job of frustrating Fiorentina and taking advantage of the opportunities to attack when they appeared.

Only thing that really caused issues early was Cuadrado getting one-on-one against a defender, but Marchisio soon started moving wider and provided good protection down that side of the pitch. Between that and Vidal doing a good job on Valero - who an awful lot of Fiorentina's attacking play normally goes through - Fiorentina had very little to offer to trouble Juve.

Why don't Juve always play deep, compact and focused when ahead instead of only doing it when trying to conserve energy?

Still think Juve look much better with Matri in the team since he is the only player Juve have who moves like a CF and is capable of stretching the game and pulling a defence out of shape.

I'll never understand teams who clearly go into games without any making any adjustments to take account of Pirlo.

I wonder why Fiorentina played us so differently this time as opposed to our first meeting.
