So basically we need a goal in the first half or not too long into the second.
As it's always the case when we play an outsider. :)

Anyway, i checked on Bologna's results and on the post-match comments and it looks like defending all the time in numbers and waiting for an occasional counter is their characteristic.
The results also tell a similar story.

Bologna-Fiorentina 1:1 (Bologna took the lead so they never really opened their defense)
Bari-Bologna 0:0
Bologna-Chievo 0:2 (Chievo scored an early goal and then added another one on a counter)
Milan-Bologna 1:0 (late goal)
Bologna-Livorno 2:0

Only once they found themselves behind in the first half and as expected, they conceded more. Against Milan they were most vulnerable after they conceded because they had to leave space.

So, like it's always when we play an outsider, an early goal will make everything easier. Bologna will have to open up and leave their slow defenders vulnerable on counters.

Diego HAS to play, he needs to have a game in his boots before the Bayern game.

Let Marchisio play too, he's flying high at the moment. Let's not rotate too much yet. Can't risk any points here.

I'd like to see something like this..

Buffon
Zebina Legrottaglie Chiellini De Ceglie
Salihamidzic Melo Marchisio
Diego Giovinco
Trezeguet

btw I would rest some players, the match against Genoa was crazy! Did you see how the players were running and pressing the whole match? Did you see how Poulsen went nuts at the last 10 minutes, Poulsen one of the toughest guy!!

Yeah we ran a lot and did lot of effort but we can't underestimate Bologna. These type of games will win us the league IMO. Manchester, Barcelona, Liverpool, Inter also sometimes don't rest their players unlessl it's really necessarily.

This is necessary! We lost two important points against Bordeaux at home, we have to earn as much as points possible in CL. Plus we have much better squad than last year, and if we don't rotate the players for small matches like these, what is the point of having a big squad then? I am not saying rest the whole team, but we need to rest the ones who played all the time, regularly.

Tactics: opposition flood midfield with bodies, cause limited space to Juventus. Juventus having little outlets on the wings pass it backwards and the defenders or Gigi belt the ball forward, over the midfield in hope to create an attack.

FFS, we play couple of matches and the "Lets rest this or that" begins... We just started.
Giving a rest to some players from time to time might be very important in long run. Last year we couldn't even run at the end of the season, which resulted with 7 or 8 draws in a row.
Yes, last year the main problem were injuries. Due to these injuries some of our players were forced to play non-stop Wednesday-Sunday and it was no surprise that they had little energy come the end of the season.

You're right. It's only the beginning so the players still have all the energy needed to play twice a week. But if they don't spare any energy for the later part of the season, and if injuries hit us again, then we'll lose the scudetto.
Remember season 2005/06 when Capello kept playing with 13-14 players the entire season? In the last 2-3 months we almost lost everything. We couldn't run against Arsenal, we lost a 12pts lead against Milan and we'd have lost the scudetto if there were 2-3 more rounds.

Sure, we shouldn't change everything, but we should make sure that no player will be dead tired come the end of the season.
1-2 changes, especially since we're playing an outsider, before such an important match in Munich, won't hurt.
