There was this situation against Parma in the second half:

We win the ball and start a counter. Diego and Amauri are the only ones on the counter against 3 Parma players. Diego stops, to wait for more Juve players to get in Parma's half. Salihamidzic and 3 Parma players come so now it's 3 Juve players against 6 Parma players. Diego passes to Brazzo, who has no-one to pass to. He stops, waits for a Juve player, no-one comes, Brazzo passes back to Chiellini.

And this was by far our most promising counter. :sergio:

btw i think this was marchisio's worst game of the year

Diego and Amauri cannot score enough goals to bring us 3 points. We need one more creative player in attack/midfield. Alex or Seba. I would actually play both but it is impossible in these circumstances.

Even if we do lose, we have Bettega's rampage to look forward too after the match. :)
There's no way we are loosing.

We may be having a nightmare season, a terrible performances and awful moral and character but when it comes to the big ones, they fear us. They know what we represent and how we act in difficulties.

Forza Juve.

According to Eurosport.com:

Juventus is playing, what looks to be, a 4-2-3-1 formation:

Manninger
Grygera Cannavaro Chiellini Grosso
Melo Poulsen
Salihamidzic Diego Marchisio
Amauri

So we're doing the same thing against Milan as we did in Parma? Oh dear, this won't work.

And still no Giovinco in sight...

I just don't understand Marchisio out on the wing. He's not particularly fast, he doesn't have a left foot, he can't really drive to the end line and cross the ball, so why does Ferrara want to play him there?

I can understand that yes, Marchisio will most likely be pulled toward the center with Grosso filling the space behind him on the wing. But I think Ferrara is keeping Marchisio out there in the same Ranieri-like BS caution approach, wasting an entire position on the field for defensive purposes.

The only way the straight 4-4-2 works well is with pacey wingers or at least creative folks on the flanks. But no, we have to play a non-winger or attacking midfielder there. Ingenious stuff.

Am I the only one who thinks Del Piero MUST start this game?
I'm with you. A 4-4-2 would work good with Del Piero and Amauri upfront.

Sali, Melo, Diego, and Marchisio in the midfield.
Grygera, Cannavaro, Chiellini and Grosso in the backfield.

However, I would like to see Giovinco placed somewhere in that formation as well...I just don't know where, and when.

You want Diego to play next to Melo in a straight 4-4-2?

Where else would he go?
The names I listed there weren't necessarily where I wanted them to be exactly positioned instead I just posted them up there to create a general sense of where each player should be placed on the field.

But now that we're on this topic of Diego, and Melo - where would they be placed in a straight 4-4-2?

I'm sorry but playing a 4-4-1-1 at home? loooooooool Sali and Marchisio on the wings? seriously we are in deep shit. Marchisio SHOULD be employed in the centre not as a winger where he sucks donkey dick. Poulsen deserves to be dropped after his lame performance against Parma. Meh play Del Piero, Diego and Gio together and lets score them. If we go we a defensive formation we will get beat. Parma raped us in possession and in chances. Milan could potentially score 3-4 goals.

He wasn't bad at all. He was our best central midfielder overall against Parma. If someone deserves to be dropped, then it's undoubtedly Melo.

I can't understand why people keep criticizing him just for the sake of it.
