There was this situation against Parma in the second half:

We win the ball and start a counter. Diego and Amauri are the only ones on the counter against 3 Parma players. Diego stops, to wait for more Juve players to get in Parma's half. Salihamidzic and 3 Parma players come so now it's 3 Juve players against 6 Parma players. Diego passes to Brazzo, who has no-one to pass to. He stops, waits for a Juve player, no-one comes, Brazzo passes back to Chiellini.

And this was by far our most promising counter.

Given how hopeless most of the play was, it was probably better to keep seven men behind the ball, rather than risking a counter attack.

Since Diego was involved in the counter, it might have been before Caceres' red card because Diego was replaced by Grygera 2-3 minutes after the red card, and so was Salihamidzic (by De Ceglie, 6 minutes after the red card).

I also think that if Juve turn things into a bit of a dogfight. As Scotch Andy said. Then they have a better chance of winning. Score the early goal and then fight in the gutter (midfield).
