The problem with moving from our current 3412 and 4312 back to a 442, is that we unless we include Diego as a second striker, or pushed high up the field behind a target man, either Trez, or Iquinta, or Amauri, we are going to be lightweight in the middle, and also leaving out of the starting XI a quality CM and striker.
Though, I do like the idea of a Gio, Melo(Marchiso/Momo), Diego, Camo midfield...
Or, we could make more sense and try a Gio, Melo, Marchiso/Momo, Camo midfield with Diego playing just off a target man.
Its nothing new to repeat how flimsy we are on the flanks, both defensively and offensively. Yet we have two players who could massively improve the flanks both defensively and offensively.
We see the need to try it, but does Zach? Had he ANy history of 4-4-2?
Had he realized now that we cannot continue to play barely competent fullbacks as wingbacks???
We need more solidity in defence on the flanks, and more bite on the flanks in offence. We have the options to try this formation. Not just with Camo and Gio, but also Iago and Rossi????
