For me CL places and progress/team building is what I wanna see this season, the rest is bonus.
Yeah, kinda how it was going with Liverpool and Klopp.
Would be nice if Thiago could have such a successful path with us using a unique and entertaining style of play. The charisma is there, he seem to have interesting ideas. Let's see how it goes.

Yes but how many league titles or trophies did Liverpool win in the last decades before Kloop joined? Or what was the level of his competition in Premier League and the squad he worked with in the first few seasons?

I think the situations are not similar at all, Kloop was awarded more trust and patience because he also proved previously that he can win titles with Borussia Dortmund and even take them to UCL final, and was done on long term project too with the team build around his philosophy, which not the same can be said about Motta who is still at an earlier stage in his career and outside of doing a miracle with getting Bologna to CL spots there’s not much else to suggest things will improve gradually, if anything it seems he is the kind to hit full gear right away, even more so with a squad level ready to compete in a league where we shouldn’t feel inferior to anyone.

We should always be expected to at the very least compete for the Scudetto till the last rounds, even if this season it’s not necessarily a make or break objective to win it there is still no excuse to not finish minimum 2nd or 3rd while being only a few points away from 1st, along with maybe reaching again a Coppa final and advance from the UCL group stages.

Small tactical analysis of the match, if I may say so.

First half approached so-and-so, also accomplice to a lineup with a few reserves and a few out-of-role players, see Mbangula and Cambiaso. We kept the ball well but created practically nothing, in fact we had a very very low xg.

Second half, accomplice some changes also, we changed pace slightly. We kept the ball slightly less but we were pressing better and in front we potentially created some chances.

Let's take into account that we scored 7 out of 9 and anyway playing with Roma is never easy. Also they had had a particular week, and it was a given that they would come to Turin loaded.

Despite this, the defense held up well, and we didn't concede any goals.

What can we improve?

The speed of ball circulation and the transition of it, try to go vertically as quickly as possible.
Motta is working a lot in this aspect.

Another important note is Motta's attention to detail.
They keep confirming to me that he is taking care of each player individually, including nutrition.

Very positive note from this start of the season, Gatti, who seems to have grown a lot. Dobvyk practically never dangerous and nullified on several occasions.

We had about 90 percent of the passes completed, a very good sign that the team nevertheless finds itself, but we won few duels, and on this we have to grow a lot.

I am convinced that with the inclusion of Douglas and Koop, we can have our say.

Negative note of this beginning of the season is Fagioli. Ma personally never liked him as a player. Good Loca, who is not a phenomenon but at least this year he looks like a footballer.
