Ok so my impression this far from our 3 games:
Our team can play good football and will be better when players integrate well.
Defense - Im still worried about Gatti starting - We should have done better but thats not the end of the world for now.
Midfield - We have many options in midfield and our midfield should be very strong going forward
Wingers - N.G and F.Conceicao - N.G obviously needs to integrate and then we can judge. F.Conceicao - He is very fast and quick, always gives you the feel something is about to happen which is very good, hope he can make this feel a reality (when he integrates). Im just worried that he might be easier to learn than others but time will tell.
Attack - Vlahovic - We did poorly in the CF position. Have to say it. Vlahovic is here for a few seasons now and yet to make that killer instinct and the movements he made with Fiorentina. At the moment Vlahovic shouldnt be an undisputed starter but a player who fights for his position. We need to find an alternative and the alternative should be of this profile: Relatively fast, Great response when receiving the ball, good to very good finishing, relatively good at heading.
Vlahovic unfortunately reacts slowly and I honestly dont know why since at Fiorentina he was like a tottaly different player.

To sum it up - Achievable position 2nd. probable 2-4. We are currently better than Napoli and Milan and we should improve rather than decline. I`d say we are favorite for 2nd place.

Winter mercato - CF to give Vlahovic a good run for his money. CB - If any funds are left, Sancho - He would definitely improve us at the wings but his whole operation seems way too costly.

Roma was obviously playing like they couldn’t afford to lose, they had everyone behind the ball. Pretty hard to score that way.

one takeaway for me is Savona has a shot to be a full time starter, especially if Conceicao starts. You’d want someone more defensive minded behind him, and Cambiaso is more natural on the left side anyway.

Im not that thrilled about Savona honestly. He is ok but its not like we are growing the new Cafu or something.

That was one of the weakest Roma teams I've seen in 20 years, if not the weakest.

If we want top 4 finish, we absolutely have to win these kind of games.

Actually I think Roma played the best way they could. They fought for every ball and even tried some moves. They won most aerials (IIRC). Its not about the lineup but the team. Its actually a much stronger Roma than I remembered.
I do agree we need to win these games but thats one and we cant win them all..

Roma played very well imo. That DM Pisilli played great.

But I think the bright side is that Roma played very well and had 0 shots still..

I really like our defence so far. We are actually defending not just sitting there. Gatti is a monster this year.

Motta has to find a way to deploy Yildiz. He is a good dribbler, however he needs to improve his key pass and running without ball. Left winger could be a better position for him, however, it means we need a more defensive DL, to give him more open space.
Another thing need to improve is how to serve Vlahovic in a better way. Of course, he needs to improve his running for room to receive the ball and his header. Or Nico will bench him.

Far too static with Fagioli and Loca together and two defensive fullbacks. No movement upfront either, which didn't help, but after the break the new wingers will start. Thuram can start again with Luiz and Cambiaso can return to his full back position.

Alright match, it's early on, and some of our bench players controlled Roma.

Only mistake was subbing in McKennie.

Once Luiz and Koop get integrated with Locatelli that's gonna be an exciting midfield. We see it in flashes. We missed wingers that can penetrate a defense with runs. Yildiz is not that player so only Cambiaso was doing it. When we have Nico or Conceicao there, with Cambiaso and Sacona at fullback too. it's gonna be great.

Early days.. good result against low teams and win against Roma our first quality opposition even though they been struggling would have been a massive.. Good start so far overall but alot or improvement needed..

I'll take the 0-0 against Roma. Realistically we aren't competing for the Scudetto this season, so this wasn't a game to take risks. Especially right before the international break.
