what a shitty game. our hype balloon popped finally. squad quality is very low, some of the players are straight up terrorists. we will keep depending on a few players pulling a rabbit out of a hat.
Perfectly stated, "hype ballon" ! I was being positive drinking the kool aid but even if team gets close to scudetto so hard to like more than a few players on the team.

Me, always rooted for Juventus from a distance but got into everyday happenings once joining the forum. I feel for the posters who have put in so many more years than me to have to endear witnessing this slop that seems to have no end to it.

Forget the players, just start by getting rid of the complete management team from bottom to top, top being owners/board members etc etc.

...I am still prepared to believe their story that they didn't even see Candreva near the corner flag and were only focused on the group in the box....
no, that's not what they defended the inexcusable with.

they said the var room had no footage that showed candreva. feel free to do the research, this was the official excuse. then gravina famously said that an error was made but nobody made a mistake, and case closed.

100% shitshow with every imaginable systematic failure. easily the worst decision ever made in var history.

not that yesterday's match was much better. i saw 3 incidents: the nonexistent penalty on mario, the 100% red card and this one:

rapuano is right there watching the whole thing from the first row

remember, kalulu was sent off based on satellite images against lazio

Cool the ref will be punished but will come back after a few matches. Good job italy, you still suck and still remind me of why I despise you.
Yeah what’s point of punishment? Maybe use the money they line in their top executive pockets to train the refs better and pay them better too.

I guess we will hear more in the next days, but I am pretty sure that VAR did call the ref for the review, and he was the one who refused.
He rushed to give a yellow to the Verona player, which means that he saw there was a foul. VAR can't force a review. If the ref listens to the recommendation but believes he saw the incident clearly and correctly, he may refuse to go to the monitor.
At least I hope this is what happened, because if VAR did not even call the ref for a review, that's definitely the most scandalous decision in a Juve match since VAR was introduced. Even worse than that disallowed goal (Bonucci). The most clear red card ever.
IMO audio of ref should be made public. We need to hear what he was saying.

How many more times do you want to do that? We’ve been doing that almost every year since 2018. It never works and it never will.

It’s far better to be patient and improve on each aspect of the team in every mercato. We finally have a good attack after almost 5 years. So now we should shore up by getting a CB, RWB and a good CM. It’s difficult to do all of that in the winter mercato, but that should definitely be the focus for next summer.

It’s too early to give a verdict on Comolli and Tudor- but they’re doing one thing each that I really, really like. Comolli is being very prudent with our finances, which makes approach a lot more sustainable than years past. For Tudor, the thing I like about him is that he will use every player at his disposal. Previous managers would already have frozen out Vlahovic and a couple others.

Finally, on the game itself. Yes we played badly, and Juve shouldn’t have to rely on the referee, but these matches are bound to happen, especially with a tight schedule. The result of one game will never change the perception or expectation of an entire season for me. What I want from us this year is to comfortably place in the top 4, and hopefully challenge as far as possible for the scudetto. It’s okay if we don’t win it as long as we put up a good fight and use this season as a platform to build an even stronger Juve next season. I don’t want next season to be year 0 for the seventh year in a row.

Regardless of ref and whatnot. I blame Tudor, it was evident already last game that the players were tired. Even Tudor himself said that he should have taken out Yildiz in HT. Yildiz should not have started this game, same with Thuram and Kalulu. Loca doesn't work against mid- or low-teams, he only works against stronger opponents. Tudor's mistakes started before the ref entered the pitch.

The alternatives for Yildiz, Thuram and Kalulu are probably Openda, Adzic and Rugani. I dont think starting them was a good idea because two of them played a good 30+ and still sucked. We also have to admit that this squad (which is barely top four quality at best) also lacks depth very much considering the new guys haven't settled in yet. The only quality player we have on the bench are David, Openda and Rugani (possibly Miretti too when fit) but that's simply no depth.

this must be the very first time rocchi is not being openly hostile towards juventus. maybe he's just not trying to defend the indefensible. he's saying that the penalty on mario was wrong, orban must have been sent off, and tudor rightfully protested

didn't see the game, it might still have been a deserved draw. juventus should be able to comfortably beat verona, that's not even a question. but the ref definitely influenced the result.

that's not how life works
Actually sweaty that's exactly how the real grown up world works. For example if you do a business deal and it turns out the other guy is so bad at business that he gets relegated to Serie B business league I think you'd get all your money back or at least an apology. Or for example if you paid for a sex worker and later found out he wasn't even good enough to be a professional wouldn't you demand your money back? That's what I did and your dad happily refunded my money so go ask him if that's how life works
