It would be a massive advantage for us (especially for CL) if we were well practiced in both 4-3-3 and 3-5-2.

So in games like these the whole "we're competing in Europe this season and thats why depth is important" comes into play yet I don't think we'll risk starting guys like Pogba, Quag, Padoin. From these depth players there are only 3 players on the bench that I feel comfortable in starting in an away game like this without thinking that we'll become that much weaker. Those 3 are De Ceglie, Marrone and Matri. The rest? I don't know. Benching one of our 3 midfielders won't happen unless its Asamoah playing, which basically means that he won't be rested for Chelsea. Although I like Pogba I don't think he's ready just yet and especially to replace Pirlo who is the motor on this team.

Also there are no more defenders I'd trust and on offense I definitely don't trust Quag.

Buffon

Barz - Bonucci - Marrone

Licht - Vidal/Marchi - Pirlo - Asamoah - De Ceglie

Vucinic/Gio - Matri

Basically only 3 regular starters get rest for the Chelsea game. The rest would been a huge drop in quality.

Buffon
Licht-Lucio-Chiellini-De Ceglie
Vidal-Marrone-Asamoah
Giovinco-Matri-Vucinic

This seems safe. Rest one or two of our CBs and get Chiellini some more minutes to get his fitness back. Can bring on Bonucci second half.

Having our attack still strong whille having Vidal/Asamoah get the dirty stuff done. Let Pirlo rest for Chelsea and give Marrone the reigns to dictate tempo.

Depth. :touched:

:edit: Resting Marchisio too.
