Happy with the point considering the way the game went and happy to see us hold firm and take the clean sheet when we weren't at our best. A couple of season ago all of them half chances were flying in against us it's nice to see our luck has changed somewhat.

I would prefer to give the MOTM to Tagliavento for not bowing to the pressure from the home fans, but if I'm pushed for one I'd have to say Asamoah who looked solid and never looked like letting anyone past him.

We should have brought Bendtner:)sergio:) for Giovinco imo. At least he can use the long passes and set-pieces when we're playing this bad on the open play.

There was not much confidence to be seen today my man :D
We walked on the pitch, didnt play at even 50% of our capabilities, but we gained a point, like a big team. They had one chance.

Sometimes? I wanted to replace the whole team except Buffon in the half time....
I agree with you, we played bad, but we gained a point so easy.

I see power and a real team here, as we used to be.

Poor display, even if a draw certainly isn't a bad result.

Looked like Juve went there playing for a draw, but were pretty lucky to get it.

Both teams were crying out for a proper striker to run in behind the opposition to open up some space in the game. Without any threat in behind both teams were able to close down opponents dropping short pretty easily and the midfield never really opened up.

There wasn't any real threat of penetration from the wingbacks, as Pasqual was the only one of the four who showed any interest in attacking the space.

Giaccherini didn't even get himself ahead of the ball the way he normally does when playing in midfield.

Fiorentina at least tried to force some sort of tempo into the game at times. Juve, when in possession, only really seemed interested in keeping the ball among the back three and running down the clock.

Can't even think of a Juve player who really put in a praise-worthy performance just now.

Also thought the ref was pretty kind to Juve tonight.

He got the big decisions right, but he was coming down on Juve's side a lot in the general run of things.

Was quicker to book Fiorentina players, too.

we can't always win but we can at least try...didn't even bother doing that today.
Exactly.

I notice some people saying we played that badly last season. Well when we played bad last season we at least had PLENTY of chances to score...last night we had nothing. We barely created a clear cut chance and were very lucky not to lose.

I think it's clear our players (and management) are much more focused on the CL this season, but we should still put a bit more effort in these Serie A games. It will be extremely arrogant (and dangerous) to think we can past through Serie A all season playing like that...

Well that was the first time (other than Coppa final) that I saw this Juventus being outplayed, or rather, happy to settle for a draw (other than Udinese-Juve last season), which was unexpected and something I did not like. Maybe it is tough for them to go 100% in each game for these two weeks, I don't know. Anyway, Fiorentina did great, and we were lucky to get a point. Barzagli was decent but really needs to find his beast form of last season, Lichtsteiner had a terrible game he didn't even run for the ball, Pirlo was subbed which is unheard of, Giaccherini had a good work rate but was always beaten, Pogba did well defensively, we sorely missed Marchisio he injects that pace in the game, Vucinic was a sub wasted he held on to the ball for too long and always, always ends up giving away possession when 3 Viola players catches up with him, Giovinco - I don't know 4/5 games in, put in any big strong defenders he can't do jack shit.

I still see a difference from last season, a lot more direct with this Juve and the moves are trying to get to the opposition penalty area as soon as possible. I don't think that really works though, it lacks someone with real strength and dominance to move around smartly. Giovinco is a lot more comfortable picking up possession from the midfielders and facing an opposing defence.

Edit: It's nice to continue to not lose and I was expecting something tough today.

Our midfield is slowing down. These fags from Fiorentina were just sitting there waiting for us while we play games every day. Had to bus to the city and got a full week of games coming up and they still can't beat us lol.

Their fans were crazy and we held them off. It's not a terrible result IMO.

people expected some trashing like last year? that was unrealistic, this purple is much better now and besides :

we want to save energies, it's still early in the season and yet we certainly looked tired already, let's not worsen the condition

last year we didn't beat genoa chievo and the likes, this year we should focus on beating them and try not to loose against bigger teams especially away, a good trade off since it will allow us to save energies to compete on europe or we risk loosing both serie a and europe; it's better to win thrice against minnow teams while drawing against naples than winning against naples but drew thrice against chievos

giovinco practically destroying our attacking setup, yes he should be subbed with vucinic than quaq
